17x10s what offset
hey guys i saw the wheel fitment guide but i dont have excel (really weird i know)
anyway im lookin at 17x10s all around and want the same offset all around whats the biggest offset on stock fenders i can fit my options are: 15, 22, 35, 45 i have no problem rolling the fenders as much as needed im gonna run a 265 or 275 all the way around thanks in advance |
+45 for an fd.
|
45. That is what I have.
|
thanks guys
i guess ill have to do wide fenders |
why? 17x10 +45 would fit on all 4 corners of an FD without much (if any) fender rolling
|
just FYI, the ONLY offset you listed that will work is the +45 on the FD with stock fenders... The lower the offset number the more the wheels outer edge (lip) will stick out past the fender egde
|
yeah but thats a small offset AND i wont be able to fit very big tires
im considering 17x10+15 with 275s at least all the way around with some over fenders |
thats retarded.
if youre gonna put overfenders on an FD at least run WIDER than what will fit under stock fenders. like 11's up front and 12's out back YAY! :) you could probably get away with 265's all around if you roll the lips and pull the fenders a little, depends on a lot of things to know for sure. |

im considering 17x10+15 with 275s at least all the way around with some over fenders If you run a 17x10 +45 all the way around you can run a 275 or even a 285 wide tire, on STOCK fenders. If you try to run anything lower than a +45, (like +15) you will push the wheels out farther away from the car and then you will NEED wide fenders. You won't be able to run any wider tire, because a 275 or 285 wide tire is the maximum size you can put on a 17x10 anyway. So if you're set on getting these 17x10 wheels, get the +45 |
i understand perfectly how offsets work
i also understand that i want a bigger offset because of the fact that i can run a 275 all around AND have the car 30mm wider on each side big tire isnt everything there is a point where if you go to a big enough tire it ends up slowing you down Ive figured out exactly what im going to run and its the 17x10+15 thank you all for your help and there is no problem with putting a 295 on a 10inch wide ride rim only problem is finding 295s for a 17 it is .3inches bigger than what is recomended also maybe in a normal street tire i would want to go with the biggest i can fit but when you daily toyo ra-1s its not necessary to go nearly as big |
first pic is of an fd with 17x10+35 with a 255 tire i know small tire but with some rolling i know you could fit bigger
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...r/CIMG2163.jpg just for fun he put the 255 on the front proving you could easily have a 17x10+35 all around he drove around and it was fine http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...r/CIMG2196.jpg so why is it that everyone says the +45 is the only one that fits? when i specifically said the biggest offset? as much as it sounds like im being dick because that is how i also read this im honestly trying to find out and im in no way trying to be a dick did you guys find there to be issues or have you just not yet seen this post? post can be found here https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-20/5zigen-fn01-rcs-fd-621010/ he has a 255 looks like if he were to run some more negative camber and maybe do a bit of rolling he would have no problem stuffing a 275 under there maybe even bigger |
if thats what you want to do , then go for it
|
because if you drive your car HARD, those 17x10 +35 with a 255 will very likely rub the wheel wells or lips and shred something somewhere or bend the sheetmetal... unless you also run super duper stiff suspension.
you should run 18x10 so you can run 285 fronts and 295 rears like me ;) theyre smaller in O.D. compared to the 275 in 17" also so you get lower with more clearance... and they look incredible. |
thanks a lot man
now that is the answers im lookin for |
sidenote, the fno1rc does not come in 18x10.
---> but does come in at 18x9.5 and still has the concave face like the 17x10 model. I dunno if there are 18x9.5 in offsets you will like but there probably is. and yeah a 285/30r18 all around or some 295 out back would be awesome on an FD. I have the advan neova and theyre great, kinda pricey though, but in 285/30r18 there are a lot of tire choices from other brands too, as its a common size for porsche rear wheels IIRC. |
haha I'm running a 235/40/17 on my 17x10.5 :D
