17 18 or 19 inch wheels. Want some fresh opinions
 

I want to get some new shews for my FD. I was thinking about 18s but read some conflicting reviews . . . anyone that has had any of the size give me the low down?

WAs thinking 18x8 31 offset front and 18x9 .44 offset rear.

Any tips would be great!!

How much are you looking to spend on the shews (shoes)?

I'f your at stock ride hight i'd go with 19's but if you're droped a bit i'd go 18's. My .02

if you have to have bigger wheels, i would say 17s would have the most balance for the car. The other sizes are a little on the big side and can actually hurt performance if the correct wheel isnt chosen.

Wanted 18s but keep reading that it may not be good to go 18s on this car . .

17x8.5 38 offset - 245x40x17 Front
17x9 31 offset - 255x35x17 Rear

Can you guys tell me what you have on your rides?

I am running:

18 X 8.5 (offset +45) in the front wrapped in 235/40/18
18 X 9.5 (offset +45) in the rear wrapped in 265/35/18

Did you have to roll your fenders?

You did not have to roll your fenders, but your tires have a bigger gap from the fedners . . about 3/4 of an inch?

I want my wheels closer to the fenders - - want it to look"filled in".

offsets seem a little low. but i'm not positive. did you check that wheel chart / spreadsheet?
i think it's in the archive in the wheel / suspension section.

im a fan of the 17s. 19s look like wagonwheels to me. the profile of the tire is also important when you are worried about rolling. i simply changed the tire style (same specs) and didnt have to roll anything.

18s look perfect on an fd in my opinion. The stock 16s are pathetic, and 17s still look small to me. 19s look too big. When I had my rx-7 I had 18x9 and 18x10 Gram Light Pros with 255/35/18 and 285/30/18 tires.

Offsets are too low...although front would work with fender rolling. The rear tires should be 255/40 or 265/40 17.

I am not doubting you but the "spreadsheet" shows the combo I mentioned above will work work . . . I am trying to make sure I get a wheel that will fill in my wheel wells but NO rubbing. I do not want to roll the fenders on car with less than 30K miles . .

What size wheels, tires and offset do you reccomend to accomplish my goal?

They'll work, but will rub up front, particularly if it's lowered. Actually, what they'll do is probably pull your fender lip eventually unless you roll them.... along with light rubbing of the fender liner at full lock or over big bumps.

You really want to see offsets in the 40's up front... up to 52mm or so.

Just out of curiosity I am going to probably be putting a set of 19's on my car (currently have 18's) and I am going to roll the fenders. My 18's work fine on stock suspension and +45.

What would be the difference if you rolled them just cause the car has less than 30k miles? Mine has fairly low miles also...

Are you running stock suspension?

I don't want to mess with a car that has low miles. Want to keep it factory like and the ability to return back to full stock with no issues.

Also, what good is the "spreadsheet" if the info is wrong? :wallbash:

Just to let you guys know, I am running a group buy on 17/18/19 inch staggered wheels in propper FD and FC fitments in the GB section. I have pics and specs there as well. Good price for these wheels.
