[FC] Corksport 30mm fenders + 285's = win
I'm sure all of you were wondering "whats the biggest tire i can stuff under the front of my FC, without using those godaweful 60mm tripoint flares?"
the answer - Corksport 30mm fenders. Unlike most fenders for the FC, CS fenders give an honest 30mm, maybe more (i didnt actually measure).
Tein Flex coilovers, 2.5 degrees camber
Drivers side:
18x9.5 +15 Enkei RPF1
285/30/18 Kumho V710
Passenger side:
17x9 +24 Bullitts
255/40/17 Advan A032-R
the last v710 pic is with the tire compressed some (rolled up onto a curb). as you can see it tucks just fine. The tire will actually hit the frame rail before the fender. perfect fit!

so based on my experiance, i think the best 'budget' setup would be to run 18x10 +22 mustang wheels all around, with a 7mm-10mm spacer up front, and 285's all around.
the rears will fit a lot easier with the +22 in back. only a slight pull needed, assuming non-retarted ride height and proper camber.

It'll be best to put some mesh over the opening to keep the rocks and junk from flying out of the fender and hitting the car. Nicely done though, I never would have thought that combo would work.

For a FG Fender that thing fits real nice. I've seen virtually every brand cheap and epensive available stateside and i'm very impressed with the seams and subtlety of the flare. And being CS fenders they must be darn affordable. Hats off!!!!
I'd be interested in seeing a street radial 285/30/18 would fit with that setup. i'm running 245's on my stock front fenders and the thing turns on a dime but is twitchy for daily driving, imo. I can't imagin 285's. do tell......

I'm using genuine 30mm D1 DMax fenders, and was planning to run the 17x9 mustang wheels and 275/40R17's on the front. By the look of your fitment, you could go even bigger again.... 315 up front?

275/40/17 is a taller tire, and thats really where the problems lie. you can go plenty wide, but larger diameter tires interfere with everything. 275's will most likely hit the back of the fender, maybe the front, and will probably rub on the inside of the fender well.
285/30/18 is the same diameter as 255/40/17, which just clears the insides and the back edge of the fender.
i know some guys have run 275's in front, but i've only seen it on mariah or tripoint 'big' fenders, which give you extra room down on the bottom for the tire to turn. they may have also pounded out the fender well. dunno

If you run more postive castor, this gives you more clearance for the back of the guard.
I originally had some MSport 25mm copies, and they suffered the guard clearance at the back of the wheels, and this was evident even before i put tires onto some 18x9.5+7 wheels i had for fitment back then. Although this was when the 'drift fitment is cool' fad was happening, and the wheels came up cheap. I had plenty of room at the front of the guard.
I'll be using the same guards as this guy (his running 255/40R17's all round)

a) castor - with the camber tops, spin them 90 degrees, and this will give you castor adjustment (use camber bolts to get camber) OR use an offset bush for the rear of the front lower control arm. Effectively moving the rear mount outwards. Increasing castor. I'm using the latter method, using locally available bushes (www.whiteline.com.au or www.fulcrumsuspension.com.au)
b) rear fenders are 30mm DMax fenders, measured at 30mm. I pulled the rear fenders, and then placed them over the top, and the pull alone was easily 30+mm Might have to slightly trim some of the fibreglass, but measuring from the stock wheel face, to the edge of the guard with a plumpbob i have 75mm extra room for a larger rim. Going for 315/35R17 in the rear.
The picture i have before of the rear with a wheel fitted was with a 18x10.5+7.

i had my springs out today, so i thought i'd take more pics.
i jacked the tire up into the wheel well to see how much travel i really had.
the corner of the tire is just barely touching the fender (i think). kinda hard to tell. should have passed a string over it or something...

not sure on offset, his using +30mm front fenders, and the rears were pumped.
i'm fairly sure looking at them, they are skyline GTR offset, which will be around +15, and for clearance to the strut you may need a spacer.
