SAFC with No fuel adjustment

hiya chaps

just a quickie really

im about to install a SAFCII in the next few weeks

if i leave all the fuel adjustment at 0 will it run just as it is now with the stock ECU ?? ( so there is NO addition or removal of fuel )

i dont want to start playing just yet - just want it installed

thanks

Yes.
The gauge values are very convenient for testing sensors.
EG:
Is the TPS sweep smooth with no drop-outs?
Is the tach accurate?
Is the dash boost gauge accurate?
Is the FCD working & set right?
Is the AFM OK?

cheers matey

im gonna wire in the a/f side - but leave everything as stock

another quickie ( should start a new thread but cant be bothered )

is there any way of testing the SAFC before i put it into the car

can i wire the 12v and earth to a battery - just to see if it powers on ?

i bought it second hand and want to make sure that it works as it should

Bench testing is a good idea.

Got an old PC power supply laying around?
It has +12v and +5v so you can test the sensor inputs also.

thats an interesting point matey

im all really bothered about is that the unit powers up

when it goes to the ECU - you need 2 earth leads ( i assume this is the for battery display )

could i use one of them and the 12v and just see if the unit powers up ??

i dont want to go to the extent of using a pc - although this is NO probs - i have about 10 lying around the house !! LOL

I have not seen anything written on why the two ground (earth) wires.
They are supposed to be connected about 1" apart, so I suspect it has something to do with noise suppression.
Anyway that's not an issue during a bench test.
I bought mine used, and luckily it worked.
