safc how far will it go!!!

has any one used an safc with a big turbo upgrade and a large streetport. i want to go with a standalone but they r so expensive.

and anyone that has big turbo list what you have and what where the numbers of whp. im trying to deside on what setup i should go with. looking for about 380 to 450whp

yes, ultimatly you can, depending on how big your injectors are but its not suggested.
if your trying to push that kind of power, especially out of a rotary, spend the money and get it properly tuned WITH A STANDALONE!!, the last thing you want is for it to blow up cause you chinced out on a proper tuning device.

Yes, standalones aren't that expensive compared to a rebuild or even compared to the other parts needed to achive 450whp. It's a good investement.

buy a megasquirt....they are 5-6 hundred and do a great job

You're gonna trust that 20+ year old wiring to get you 400+ hp?

Yeeeaaahh.

the highest dyno i've ever seen on a stock AFM is like 330rwhp... that was on an rtek 2.0

Go standalone you will regret it if you don't in the long run.

megaquirt that was the most decently priced on. if is really on 5 to 6 hundred with the harness that seems well worth the money.

I've seen with my own eyes 340 rwhp on stock ecu,afm and s-afc. A few years ago someone made 400 rwhp on the stock ecu alone. I would say stick around 300rwhp and you'll be fine. Anything over 350 get an standalone for the timing control.

Some standalones don't come with new harnesses, hence keeping the old wiring. Case in point, apexi powerfc. I say get the safc, and see how far you can tune it, and when you need more, upgrade.

im in a bit of a similiar dilemma here...i have an fd with an FC turbo single conversion....i wanna go for a T04E turbo but i too dont have money for a power FC...CAN i run this bigger T04E turbo on the stock ecu? what other mods will i need? do i need a fuel pressure regulator? do i need the S-afc?
