New SAFCII Owner

Alright,

Just got a new used SAFCII for my 1990 N/A, I've got a shop locally who would dyno it and tune it for free becuase they sponser me, problem is, he's never done any rotarys from what I know of but he does own an 11 second SRT4 (which leads me to believe he must know something about cars right?).

Anything I should watch out for or just pay for an official rotary tuner?

rotary engines can't run as lean as piston engines...

on an N/A generally the S-AFC is used to tune the idle and cruise with.. to improve fuel economny and get some better midrange outta it...

not much in the very top end to do on the N/A unless u got some serious work done to the car

My SAFCII's interface doens't turn off when I turn the key on/off, did I screw something up? techh

Right now I've got it unplugged so I don't run down the battery Ive just got to plug it up everytime I go to start, the grounds are 1 CM apart and are positioned as they should as well as the AFR in and out is right, the only thing I can think of is I taped into the wrong wire (it was red) for the power, but I mean, it was the wire that said power in the Z2A manual I believe...

Fixed it, had the wiring diagram up side down when I hit the power, who's idea was it to put constant power for the wire above? :D

Uh, makes sense to me... if you're going to have the power feeds come in on one side, may as well have them all there.

You have a NA. You don't really have to worry about detonation much. Just tell them the AFRs you want it tuned to, and go.

Man, I pissed my self off today, forgot to take the - off today when soldering so naturally I blew the fuse, I spent freaking 6 hours trying to figure out why my unit would turn on on the old wire and not the new and my dad just peaked around and said check the fuse I was like SOB!

Works now! :D
