Apexi AFC NEO
Has anyone used one of these on an rx7? I was looking for a SAFC II and came across this.

looks real nice i am thinking about getting one... but dont know how it is compared to safc2??? any feedback?
|
i have one, i love it. only complaint is that theres really no were to mount it.....
otherwise, its the coolest thing since sliced bread. or what the hell ever. plus, you can get them for 300 bucks brand new. and safc2s still go for like 250 used. so the neo is the shizzle. buy it, you WONT be disappointed. |

Get them on eBay, two of my friends did and the thing is sweet.
The unit comes with a comprehensive manual and has like 7 or 8 wires, so installation isn't a big deal. |
I've used them before
for some reason the RPM display/response seems much slower on the Neo then it did on the AFC2.. To be honest.. I still prefer the AFC-2 even tho it has rpm points |

idk, i suppose it may have slower refresh rate due to a little more function from the same size box? i have no clue since i didnt use any afc before. |

Maybe I was asking for more imput, like why he likes the SAFCII more than the Neo other than the RPM display is much slower on the Neo. The extra fuel points aren't worth it? |
the AFC2 has 12 points...
considering u have from 1-7,500 rpm divided by 12 points.. that's a pretty good resolution... getting more "fine tune" than that is pretty moot... considering it's a "bolt ons" car... i prefer the faster refresh and response rate... having 2 maps A/B the device is smaller, and it's easier and more straight forward to use for a person with no experience.. the NEO has some nice bells and whistles.. but they feel like a sales gimmick to me... it's like a blingy iPod looking thing... changing colors to match ur dash and such... we don't have Vtec engagement to adjust either... to me AFC2 seems more "spartan" it's simple and gets the job done... NEO seems more like a toy to decorate ur dash with.. |
