IMO i think he was just speaking in general, they do in fact work on 1st and 2nd gens, but perf. mods only, or rebuilds. Regular maintenence is below them, haha j/k.

Ari explained the reason why they shy away form working on older cars.

Most of the older RX-7s have problems that cascade into minor or major catasrophes.

Repeatedly, RP found themselves taking on simple jobs that the consumer expected to get fixed for a couple hundred bucks that wound up with broken bolts or the problems became even more serious after a thorough examination was made.

Several owners complained thinking they were being taken advantage of, when in fact the truth is that when you own a 15 or 20 year old car stuff breaks. Bolts break, parts wear out and many people (mostly non-enthusiasts) don't understand that.

Therefore they implemented a "blanket policy" to keep the problems away and more importantly let them focus on their core business which is the rotary enthusiasts rather than spending hours doing brake jobs and oil changes that became a gamble each and everytime you tried to loosen an old rusted out bolt or nut.
