Passing emissions in Austin

Hey all. Wondering if any FD owners in TX can recommend a specific place that can get the car to pass emissions? I'm going to need to regí the car.
Car is modded. Single turbo/Haltech 2500 etc.. No cat installed.

Thanks!

Do you have a check engine light on? If not, you should be fine. "Cars made in 1995 or earlier do not need emissions tests. They are grandfathered in to a state law that requires emissions testing for vehicles."

Really????? Nice! No check engine lights.
I haven't registered thus car in over 15 years so I'm not sure what they look for. Tires, brakes, lights are obvious but anything else?

Horn, windshield wipers and fluid, seat belts, insurance and the things you listed are to the best of my knowledge what they are really looking at. They could do a visual inspection for a cat but i've never seen it done.

All RX-7s are now exempt from emission testing in Texas. (All are 25 years old or older.) You now only need a safety inspection before registering. Or register the car as an antique and not even need that.

Thanks y'all! Does registering as an antique limit on how much you can drive the car?

I had an old Mustang with antique plates. I believe in Texas your limited to car shows, events, parades and trips to the mechanic. I may have streched those definitions a bit as I used the car when I wanted. You never know when the car would break down, and there was always a mechanic down the road. I used Grundy for my insurance. Great rates.

Cheers,

Does anyone know if I'll have an issue passing inspection if my air bag is like this? It's non operating.

Antique plates limits driving, but CLASSIC plates do not. I re-registered my car as a classic back in 2017.

I have a Miata steering wheel that is functional but they have no way to prove or disprove it.

Can you post a picture of the miata steering wheel?
