Rotary pilots, awesome.

I'll have to bust out my flight suit from when I was in the Air Force.

Woot! Get to show of my new (used) Tokico struts, RB springs and Corksport oil lines. No more pitching and rolling, and no more oil leaks! Sadly, the sport springs didn't lower the car any, thanks to the fact that the 217K mile originals were sagging badly, but it's a lot more sure-footed. Definitely stiffer.
Now, if I could get some bodywork done...

No oil leaks? body work? You sure that's an RX-7?

Redliner223 08-29-12 08:42 AM

Totally forgot about the meet.
If I can get the oil changed sometime this week I'll be there in the Mazda, if not then the corolla. :(

Fancy new digital gauges were installed last weekend and helped me confirm my turbo just doesn't flow like it used to. I should be there, but may be a bit tardy due to tired turbo. Guess it's about time to upgrade.

prrex4ever 08-29-12 02:31 PM

I'm going to try to roll thru for a bit.

pandaboy50 08-29-12 02:43 PM

I'm out on this one... Hoping to have my 7 running by the next meet. *Fingers Crossed*

Might show up in my is though

Hotwheelz 08-29-12 07:58 PM

I'll try and be there for my first N TX 7 meet

You trying to say '7s look good, but... :)

Oh, I'm sure there's still leaks - it's just not leaving puddles any more. The original oil hoses were literally dripping badly enough to actually puddle up, and now the undercarriage on the driver's side is so coated with oil, it's practically rust-proof forever.
Also replaced a ruptured rack-and-pinion bellows boot while I was under there. Rear camber links are next ($80 each for those stupid little bastards!)

I think I may just spray the thing flat white to get it all one color. Flat black looks awesome, but it's hot, and it's been done. I'm tired of the Winning Silver, which isn't really silver. More of a champagne, or light gold. And not much goes with the burgandy-tastic interior. Silver, black, white, and shades of grey are pretty much it. Maybe a nice gunmetal grey?

HDA 08-30-12 05:29 PM

I wish i could make it! :(

Does anyone have an extra vert center cap wrench? If so I would like to buy it for some rims I will be getting soon.:nod::nod:

Keeble 09-01-12 12:53 AM

Well I'm in town for the weekend so I'll swing by and meet some peeps.

Redliner223 09-01-12 11:17 PM

Well another great meet.
No pictures though because none were requested.

Redliner223 09-02-12 09:09 AM

Oh, found my $20, it was on my desk at home. -_- It fell out when I picked my wallet up.

Frankenrex 09-03-12 04:27 AM

Blargh - something I had agreed to do ended up being much later in the evening than anticipated. I swung by at about 11, just in case, but everyone was gone.
Spent some time today putting in new camber links (the little short ones on the inner end of each rear control arm) and removing the #$%! passive seatbelts on my '90 in favor of a normal set purchased from eBay some time ago. Still need to get some of the interior panels to match the regular belts from my '86 parts car and dye them, but the belts are in and working. Last time I'll hit my head on that stupid shoulder-belt latch while working inside the car! Need to get an S4 center console with the bigger storage bin now.

just saw this thread...is this a monthly meet? same place/times?

about how many ppl show up?

Redliner223 09-06-12 07:03 AM

It's the first Saturday of every month.
Time and place don't change.

hella quik rx-7 09-06-12 10:48 AM

^ ok, i'll try to make it out some time.

i usually go to the cowtown car meet in ftw & then the park spring/i-20 meet in arlington. both of those are every wed nite. anyone else here go to any of those meets?

No_love_for_pistons 09-06-12 12:55 PM

I've seen the meet at the Park and Ride off I-20. No way would I take my 7 anywhere near those kids... . No offense to you though as I don't know you, but those folks seem like a bunch of puerile wannabe racers.

That said, if you want to meet up with other 7 owners, meet us here on 1st Saturday

ive only been going for a couple months but, yeah your right for the most part...a lot of punks in civics, donks, pretty much anything crazy car wise can be seen. most ppl stay with their group/club. there are however some nice rides including a few guys from my supra forums, clean sc's, gtr's, nsx, skylines, etc. so its not all bad...better than no meets at all.

edit: maybe some of you guys could recommend a shop... https://www.rx7club.com/south-rx-7-f...th-tx-1010746/

Slammedblk7 09-07-12 11:18 PM

i'll see this next wk...im gonna be out that way.

wouldnt surprise me cause i heard a few wks ago cops came in and busted a few for various stupidity.

Kiku 09-10-12 12:50 AM

Arlington meet comes and goes. Same with the Western Center one in Keller/Wataga/NRH area. Cops always come eventually because people want to "race"

Hella quik, you should check out the meet in south lake on sunday nights. its good, everyone's chill and the guys that run it are on good terms with the cops.
