DFW RX-7 May 1, 2010 Meet
I'll be there...not sure which car will make it...I've got some rear bins for one of the New Members I'll be taking with me and also a small trinket as a door prize that I found in the house...it's Mazda-related.
Just an observation/comment.
For every monthly DFW RX7 meet, I can count at least 2-3 people being down and that being the #1 reason for not attending the meet.
Not that I care, since I stop going long time ago.
Is this a sign, that the RX7 is not reliable or is bugged with some curse???
Never seen this with other car marks, that I have been part of in the past.
You should change the DFW RX7 Club to:
The DFW Cursed RX7 Club or the DFW RX13 Club.

LOL, I've always referred to mine as the cursed 7 after my last FD and the amount of work I'm always putting into this one :P. I still wouldn't have any other car though, not only do I love the car and engine, but also love the group of people that go along with it (well, for the most part). Everyone's always helping each other out and trading parts (lol which now that I think about it could be related to the fact they know the frustration and work that goes into them)
. There's something to be said about walking outside and seeing the car parked and thinking "damn, that car looks like it's tearing *** around the parking lot....but it's sitting still" (lol ATHF reference)

Well the great good looks goes without saying.
I am referring to the reliability, breaking down too often.
Heck, ask Marshall the other night we had coffee and an old lady with her daughter approached us to ask and talk about our cars.
She was in shock about how old and well preserved they were, but more so of how beautiful car it is.
This was not 2 second conversation, it went on for about 10 minutes.

I could drive mine on the road (though inspection is out) but there's those little things that need to be worked on so I'm sure its safe. Any DFW FC guys (or girl) ever convert from ABS to non-ABS? My system is leaky and if there's one system you don't neglect on a 7 (or any car for that matter) its the brake system.
So while I work out the little bugs, I'll be in the miata. Not sure if I'll make this or not as I am in the process of moving. That in itself is a PITA when you only have two 2-seater cars... damn, where's all those friends with trucks that I've helped move over the years?? Payback time fellas....
If I don't get to see everyone out there tomorrow, be safe!!

Guys n' gals, have fun! I am officially out and I apologize to the New Member about the bins. I am posting from work. I got called in and thus ends another fine "scheduled day off" because of a lazy co-worker.
I should have the Firebird as a runner for the June meet, but it's going to be all sorts of colors and generally ugly that way. It had better not freakin' rain since the vert top won't be done by then.
