I lacked the foresight to fix my door seals or get a car cover because I've got a wet spot on the passenger floor.

Whizbang 01-16-07 08:59 AM

can i skate on your hood?

j_tso 01-16-07 09:16 AM

you could probably do a ski jump from the roof, using the headlights as ramps.

ibekinq 01-16-07 09:29 AM

man my car looked like that yesterday................ but you guys in austin have it worse than here in dallas

palsor1 01-16-07 10:27 AM

the upside is no work today :)

duffman692002 01-16-07 10:55 AM

I had the most fun I've ever had driving to work on the ice coverd roads. Mine looked like yours too. I thought I'd be smart and put towels over the windows the nighty before so I wouldn't have to scrape ice the next morning. Bad move. Damn towels froze to the windows. Took me 30 minets to get them off. On top of that, my doors froze shut. I was over an hour late but whatchagonnado.

j_tso 01-16-07 01:31 PM

the old lady across the lot from me is picking ice off her car. If she think she's gonna drive she's crazy. and if she slides into my car, I'll put her on ice for good.

RX7freak08 01-16-07 03:54 PM

hahahaha i read yeah in oklahoma it isn't really that bad but yeah I'm not in the bad part.

ChunkyMonkey 01-16-07 08:57 PM

Here's how it looks in my neck of the woods, the rain has started coming down a little harder now. By the time I head to work in about 2 hours, should be interesting....

The ice isn't bad, just people aren't thinking when driving. I'd say this stuff isn't too common for San Antonio, I was having fun though.

mr_ouija 01-17-07 12:55 AM

The ice ON my car wasn't the bad part, its the 3-4" of ice that surrounded my car that made it a fun day today. Sad that the FD is all I have to drive at the moment.

SBMotors 01-17-07 08:36 AM

Thank Goodness that it didn't that bad here in Corpus.

1stand3rd 01-17-07 08:47 AM

Well, at least you kept your headlights in the up position.

EJayCe996 01-17-07 10:20 AM

Oh im pretty sure most of us learned our lesson from the first time they got frozen in the down position. :bigok:

stevie1020 01-17-07 12:04 PM

Whizbang 01-17-07 02:25 PM

lol @ snow/ice noobs

Richter12x2 01-17-07 03:21 PM

The people who drive 5mph are almost as bad as the ones driving 45 :P Nothing like a good slide backwards down an icy hill because you weren't going fast enough to make it to the top. Amateurs. :P

My Neon cruises right around in this stuff since I added the second transmission to it. :D

ChunkyMonkey 01-17-07 04:53 PM

My wife's srt was frozen to the ground with ice sheets, lol....sounded funny when I was reversing to go to work....FWDFTW, lol

Richter12x2 01-17-07 05:45 PM

Oh no, mine's not an SRT - I was talking about the RX7 transmission I've still got in the trunk. :D

I still remember the last big ice storm we had where we had snow, and then it misted rain on top of the snow, which then froze. It looked like snow but it was so strong, my Thunderbird wouldn't break through it. Plus, it was only frozen where there twas snow, so I had an inch and a half ice sheet all the way around the car, and no ice where the wheels were. :D I had to rock it back and forth to get out of my parking space! :D

i see a red zx2 lol

EJayCe996 01-18-07 02:34 AM

Yeah, we were watching both that and a sissy dog for a friend who went out of town for like.... 4 days or something.... god i hate that dog. Thank god she got back in today so we are rid of that whining little .... animal... I now have my parking spot back too. We got a 96 ford thunderbird in the garage that never got the engine put back together(all it needed was new head gaskets) so its been sitting in the garage, taking up my potential garage spot, with the engine half apart for over 4 years now.

Richter12x2 01-18-07 08:20 AM

Is it a v6? I did one of those just a couple of months ago, the weekend after the Dallas Cannonball. :P

Richter12x2 01-18-07 03:12 PM

Actually, is that really a zx2? It looks like a base Escort to me. :P

EJayCe996 01-19-07 01:52 AM

nah, the Bird is the 4.6L V8.... the LX model i believe (don't know, don't care anymore... but it sure could move when it used to move :icon16: ) Oh, and it is a Zx2... manual even.
