There are several locations in Austin on saturday nights where people gather, depending on what their intentions are, you could say...

Some meets are just to hang out, and others are for those that want to challenge each other.

*COUNTY LINE 2222W/360N is best BBQ, most parking, easiest to find.
A 1-2hr. head count may get reserved tables but Sat.noon is crowded; slow seating 35++.
Big groups may get a pre-reserved section, back room, ...or the big party annex w/o a fee +min.per person. Maybe call the G.M. for the rules; they change.

*Local RXs will likely do CABELA's or similar Sat. night meet so Oun won't be tempted to cruise for high school girls if left alone. His motto & old windshield decal was "Hide Your Daughters".

*Small hand RADIOS, ideally w/every driver, are a BIG help in smooth cruising, staying together, & safety for new drivers on unfamiliar back roads; much more so w/larger groups. Ch.7 or 7.0 works best for us in the hills; all mine & loaners are pre-set there. Let me know the channel as radios are different & some are hard to reset on-the-go w/o the instruction book.

PS: Real men don't need all those extra engine parts (pistons, valves, cams, timing belts, etc.).

FYI:
I 2nd your route choice; it begins right @2222W. Nice , smooth, curvy roads.
The oncoming Sat. traffic may delay/divide the group(s) turning left from the County Line. I don't know if dividing up groups will be done before leaving the County Line or not, but if you want, after crossing 360, a visible 2222W shoulder is a good catchup, gathering, grouping place .

An alternative catchup, spot is the 2222W/620W corner of the HEB lot; enter rt. from 2222W just before 620W. Small groups can re-enter 2222W from the HEB gas pumps. Large/small groups moving to the farthest HEB 620 corner away from 2222W have room to enter 620W before the 2222W light/right turn to Lime Creek.

Reversing the same route back is almost like driving a whole new road & well worth the time. Lime creek alone is a short drive missing a lot of hill country scenery.

Those in a hurry for the Omni bar can take 281S & 71S to Austin.

Just my drive experience from County Line to Marble Falls & back; your drive, your call.
