I was out there two weeks ago, they had 2/3 width of the asphalt laid. I got to go around the track at about half speed riding in a Lamborghini Gallardo. The track is going to be great for high HP cars, and it is a technical track, and should be little challenging.

Do you think people would drive that far, that's almost an hour from Houston?

Cressen is close to TWO hours from Plano, but I still see a ton of Plano people at MSR.

Any chance they'll have a way to get access to BOTH tracks? Pay the membership fee here at MSR and be allowed to use the Houston one too? That's always been my concern: I'd get bored running the same track over and over. With two tracks to choose from, I'd be much more inclined to join, even if the price was a little higher.

I think there is a plan in the works... i'd talk to someone on Jack's staff directly and see what they say.

I think we can pull it together... there is a lot of support from the "newer (RX-8)" members for events like this.

My understanding of the franchise agreement for the Houston location is that once you're an MSR member you can drive at both locations, so members could go back and forth between Cresson and Houston while paying dues to only one location.

I don't know if voting rights etc is also true though.

I went out there with Scott a couple of weeks ago and overheard Jerry (one of the Houston owners) say "If you pay for a membership here, they will honor it in Dallas so you can get going right away." I don't know if this would hold true after the track is finished in Houston or not. The way I understood what he was saying is they have a "gentleman's agreement" to work together but no signed legal documents, etc.

According to the current MSR Houston member agreement

Reciprocity with other MSR Facilities and Affiliates, subject to scheduled member days, daily fees, and policies of the reciprocating facility. Note that at least 80% of member days must be utilized at your home track.

So basically, the reciprocating facility has the right to say you can or can't go out there at their discretion.

That's a bonus... Makes it a lot easier to justify the membership fee...

I think I just bought myself a Christmas present.

I like the fact that they're making me eat my words. Too bad MSR-DFW is as close as MSR-Houston is.

Never made it to Cresson. I can't wait to try the Houston track all out. I will probably go down and work a corner before I get to drive it.

I'm anxious to see the big boys run on this track. I think it's going to be super fast. It is set up in a manner to allow for plenty of top end speed. I wish it were a little more "technical", so to speak, for cars like ours that like the turns. You can't have it all!!! It will be nice to have a "real" track close to home not just the dog track parking lot.
