Yet another exhaust manifold
Here is my fc manifold.
Flame cut all flanges from 5/8 steel. 5/8 may be overkill but I would rather not have to worry about it. The cross brace is just to dampen any vibrations, again probably overkill.. tubing is 1&1/4 i.d. (weld els). I used 2 - 90's 2-45's and 2-2"to1&1/4 reducers. The front tial is real tight but it fits. I just got it back on the road and have not really loaded it down yet. What do you guys think?? jp |
here is a early picture of it in the ride..

Looks pretty good to me. I would have used larger diameter piping though. Those flanges sure as hell won't be flexing and cracking!
Are you routing the WG's back into the downpipe? |
Right now the gates just have 3" long dump tubes,
I will probably just leave at that, unless it gets real annoying. 1&1/4 is probably the smallest reasonable size. My main reason for keeping it small was to minimize the volume of the tubing before the turbo without restricting maximum flow too much, which should help keep spool time down. jp |
whoa two wastegates ?
|
WOW! Dual open wastegates = all hell breaking loose!
|
looks a lot like mine!:D Except I went with the 1.5" sch 10 pipe instead of the 1.25". I like how you have that transition from the port to the smaller runners. I'm not sure how well it will work but looks neat:)

what size wastegates are those and where did you get the piping from?
is it mild steel piping? -Nic |

Yea they are tial 35s. The welds els are schedule 40,
Which has a pretty thick wall. Any industrial plumbing store should have the bends. I think I spent $90 dollars on materials, the gates were another $215 each (from roadraceengineering.com). This thing is heavy! but it should last a long time. The dual open gates sound pretty cool, not as loud as I thought they would be. The car is pretty damn fast compared to the stock turbo. here are the car specs: 1990 t2 street port haltech e6k 550/550 to4e .70 ? exhaust side .45 bar max boost 2.5 single ss exhaust jp |
