XS Engineering T04E Turbo Kit/Using Pettit

Can I use my Pettit ECU with the XS Engineering T04E Turbo Kit? The Pettit ECU is for the stock injectors and under 1 bar of boost?

It should work? Anything I'm missing?

I wouldn't do it. The T04E flows too much air for the Pettit ecu. Maybe if you kept the stock cat in place you would be ok, but definitely not with a midpipe.

bad idea. im guessing the Pettit ECU can support a single up to about 7 or 8 PSI...but not much more than that.

go standalone.

why would it only support less boost? I just don't know, not trying to sound like I know a dam thing, but boost going to the motor the same way single or a twin? Any more help, I have a To4e coming so I have to do somthing.

Thanks, Jeff

A TO4e moves alot more air at the same PSI as the stock twins. The volume is different, even at the same PSI. :)

Thanks, Felix

I'm just trying to get it. New to the single thing. Same PSI but more volume.

What do you guys think of the single Apex front mount IC? For the TEo4?

Thanks, Jeff

if boost was the same with a single or twin, then how come single turbo FD's make more power than one running stock twins?? ;) single turbos flow much more air than stock twins at any given PSI. so 7 PSI on a T04E for example, will flow the same amount of air as about 11 PSI on stock twins. (dont quote me on that...just used it as an example)

that will be a very nice setup.

How about a Pettit ECU with a PMS to control a t04s?
I wouldn't be using the stock actuators for boost control. Just a profec b.

Thanks. :)

Get a Power FC tuned by XS for there XS T04E kit.

I wasn't asking everyone's idea of the best system. I was asking if a PMS would be a valid solution. A PFC MAY be a better choice, but if I have a PMS available why not use it. Unless there are many issues, this seems viable. If I take this route I would most likely be running 550 primaries and 1300 secondaries.

Thanks in advance!

A PMS will do the job! :)

I am thinking of doing the same thing. My stock twins are shot, and blowing entirely to much oil. I would like to buy the to4e upgrade, and maybe a upgraded IC if I can afford it, and run it at a lower boost with my Pettit ECU until I can afford the Pwr FC and some fuel system. What do you guys think. Oh, also with a completely open exhaust.

Again, bad idea. Call pettit and see what they say. They will probably laugh at you. Pettit and M2 don't even recommend using a MP with the stock twins let alone a single turbo and a MP! I'd hate to be the one to tell you but there is no cheap way around making big HP in an RX7. You can try stuff on your own and with some luck you might get by, but no one in their right mind would actually tell you to go a head and run a single turbo without an additional computer to assist in fuel management.

RX794 01-04-02 07:31 AM

I've done this before, what you need to do is get Pettit's UNLIMITED chip, then get a Rebic additional injector controller from Greddy, then get a superwideband O2 sensor go to a dyno and make sure that the additional injectors come on to maintain the proper A/F ratio. As a side note make sure you have a fuel pump that can support the fuel demands and that you use enough additional injectors, 3 additional 720's should be enough for about 450 to the wheels safely. Like I said this can be done, you just gotta know to keep the A/F ratio properly by tuning the Rebic properly, like I said this can only be done on a dyno with a superwidebad O2.

Silver7 01-04-02 01:26 PM

This can be done, but by the time you go through the trouble of buying and installing the additional injectors, the AIC (which isn't cheap), and the dyno time (with wideband) needed to dial in the AIC, then you would have been better off just buying a plug and play PFC which has already been mapped for the T04E turbo setup. I have seen people go this this route and they always end up ditching it and going with a stand alone computer in the end.
