wtf is inducer and exducer measurement?

Reason I ask is I've got a '90 TurboII and am choosing between two turbos. The compressor A/R's are the same, but the inducer/excuder on the compressor side is different, and so I'm guessing they flow at different rates.

Here's what I'm looking at:

T04B .60 A/R Compressor side, 47.6 mm inducer and 70 mm exducer. Hotside is divided 1.00 A/R and a 62 trim wheel.

The other T04B I'm looking at has a .60 A/R Compressor side, 51.6 mm inducer, 70 mm exducer. Hotside is divided 1.15 A/R, P trim wheel.

Which is a better fit for decent street driving, and still have plenty for the highway?

The smaller inducer will provide better response the larger inducer will provide better top end. That is the simple way of putting things. Both are still relatively small, so spool shouldn't be too bad anyway. I would say go with the larger one but I'm spoiled by big turbo's already.

ok compared to a T04E 60-1 compressor side with a .58 A/R hotside, how does this compare? The 60-1 spooled fast as crap with that hotside.

I would say it wont spool nearly as fast as a .58 but should still be very streetable I wouldn't go larger than 1.0 on the rear, on stock ports, if lag is a concern.

ok, I've got a street ported motor so if I want quick spool I should probably go with a 1.00 still, and just get a really big wastegate to keep down on creep?

Damn! 47.6mm inducer is REALLY small! Might even be smaller than a stock 13bt turbo. That comes out to roughly 1.8inches inducer! I say get the second one and sell the hotside housing for a smaller housing.

Give us an examply of how fast you want it to spool? When do you want to have full boost by and how much boost is full boost?

Those are both small turbos, if you want to make any power you need to go with the 2nd one. Which even that one is a lot smaller than a 60-1.

How much power you wanting to make?

1.0 on a street port should give good response without hindering top end too much, now on to the comp. side is there a reason you want to go this size? As said I feel it is a liitle on the small side especially on a streetport. what power level are you looking for?
