WTB: GReddy cast elbow for T78
I'm desperately in need of the GReddy cast elbow that fits on the compressor housing discharge on their T78 kit (not the 'elbow' that mates to the throttle body). I managed to burst a rubber hose tonight during a 1+kg/cm2 boost run and can't do any tuning on my unit until I get something to replace it. Thanks for the help.

They have cast aluminum 90 degree elbows in a variety of sizes, and very reasonably priced. I'd start there. Dale |
Thanks Dale. My local shop, who is a GReddy distributor, called GReddy to try and get a replacement elbow. He actually talked to four individuals and said that they were such d*cks that he never wants to speak to them again. I for one, will definitely be avoiding this company in the future. Good products have great customer service and GReddy USA has no clue what customer service is. Rant mode off :-)

i guess you didn't hear about my missing intercooler pipe fiasco with greddy. finally after a few months rxecret gave me the pipe i was missing out of another intercooler kit. wow that was fun when i got the president of greddy usa so made he said "don't even go there " LOL
|
i missed that one. what pipe was missing?
|
KDR usually stocks them since they have been using them in all the gt 35/40 kits.
|
i think i also got one of the first one's sold. apparently i'm the only one to ever miss an intercooler pipe... i'm special but you guys already knew that ;)
the intercooler pipe from the drivers side over the radiator. i had the pipe from the greddy elbow. i have a pic somewhere good ol greddy :) |
Greaaaat. Turns out that the elbow won't really clear the hood anyway. I ordered a 90 degree elbow in sillicone (nitrile actually) which is working as a temp fix. I'm going to order a 90 degree aluminum elbow from www.burnsstainless.com (this is a good site!) and a section of straight as well. That'll get me right into the IC without any issues.
GReddy USA really is a PITA. The guys from the local shop, who have been helping me with the installation and troubleshooting are heading out to SEMA next week. They fully intend to give GReddy a piece of their mind. If they pulled this sort of stuff in Japan, limbs would be cut off! :-) Vosko, let me ask you this...a friend has a GReddy front mount. No piping, but it good shape. I'll probably swap him my CWR SMIC for the GReddy IF he can get the piping and radiator brackets. Think it's doable? Michel |

Michel michel its possible how old are you though if you are over 30 years old you will probably die before greddy gets all the parts if they even will try to get it for him. they don't seem too concerned with getting parts... its more along the lines oh your missing something or it broke ? buy a new another one ;) actually a greddy 2row is like $950 new isn't it ? even the 3row that i have came down to like $1300 ? i think. i would buy a new one and sell your CWR SMIC it shouldn't be that hard. |

pipes
anyone using the apexi fm with a t78? i need to make a pipe from the ic to the greddy elbow. any suggestions?
|
al900rr is. i'm pretty sure you just need one straight 3" pipe
|
Vosko,
Thanks for the feedback. yeah, I was contemplating just purchasing a new one. Aren't the newer GReddy FMIC's much longer? I don't remember the specs on this off hand, but I believe it's 4" thick, 1o.5" high and not sure on the length. But it doesn't take up the entire mouth of the FEED front end which is why I'm interested in it. I could route air to the radiator on either side. I'll take a pic when they get back from SEMA. Honestly, it probably wouldnt' be too hard to make pipes for it now that I found a business that sells aluminum piping. Michel |
