will this pump hold 550whp??
here is the link from summitt:
Pump |
no.
|
dual bosch motorsports should be able to do it
|
Two of those would but one won't.

I use that pump in my car and so far its good for 506 RWHP. Its rated at 1000HP.

Not tryin to be an ass but how do you plan to get 550 rwhp?
|
There is not enough information there to tell you for sure if it would be enough for 550 RWHP. But at 500 lbs/hr at 45 psi and 12V, it seems like it might be enough. You'll be running it at a higher pressure than that under boost, so the single rating and even more useless "HP ratings" don't really tell you enough to be certain. The 500lbs/45psi/12v data point is pretty impressive, though, so that leads me to think that it might be enough.

NPR large IC all i need to do now is install that shit and tune it. i don't want to make 550 whp now, because i'm almost broke now and can't afford a new clutch. :D Whats the max WHP you guys got out of a ACT SS clutch before it started smoking and slipping? Jason: do you sell the pump for the same price as summitt? |
With those injectors, a BSFC of 0.62, base fuel pressure of 40 psi, injector duty cycle of 77%, 15% drivetrain losses, 22 psi of boost, 10 psi of fuel system pressure drop, you should be able to support 553 RWHP and will need 403 lbs/hr of fuel flow at 72 psi. The might be cutting it close if the pump drops the output a lot (500 lbs/hr @ 45 psi @ 12v, down to ??? lbs/hr at 72 psi @ ??v).
You can play with the numbers here: http://www.maxcooper.com/rx7/how-to/...tem/calcs.html It might be easier to tune without the Rebic, running 2x850+2x1684 cc/min injectors, and 50 psi base fuel pressure. But you will likely need more fuel pump since the fuel pressure will need to be higher. -Max |
The pump is safe up to about 500 rwhp on a rotary. It depends on how much boost which also determines the fuel pressure you'll be running to make the power. The pumps support about 650 rwhp at 70 psi of fuel pressure but that's on piston motors!: I've made 720 rwhp at 13 psi of boost on a piston motor with that pump. Normaly on a good sumped system the pump would start to drop off around 520 to 530 rwhp on a rotary.

so do you think putting my supra pump inline would be a good indea, to keep the pressure up?
|
zoog, I am using this with pump with a T-72@ 50 PSI base pressure and it had enough fuel to 24 PSI. It could support a few couple more pounds because I was running afr`s in the lower 10`s. I keep My eye on the fuel pressure gauge and I have never seen a pressure drop. I dont know what RWHP I was making this year but last year I was running the Apex RX6 and was at 380 RWHP and it did not compare to the amount of power I was making this year with a T-72. I am running a large street port with a .96 hot side. Jason just tuned His car for over 500 RWHP so I think You wil be safe unless You want to run over 25 PSI
I think You might need bigger secondaries. |

Sorry missed that about the Rebic.

I am presently runnin' into problems with that pump , I am runnin 4 850cc's and 2 1300cc's , sumped fuel tank and PAXTON 1:1 regulator . I am also runnin a half bridged motor with a Garrett TA51 turbocharger , at 15psi boost (for now) and 9000rpm's my fuel pressure starts to fall from about 52 psi to 45 psi , my static (idle ) pressure is set at 37 psi , a/f ratios start to move from 11 , 11.2 up to 12.5 !! , and injector duty cycles at 88 % .
I am going to put another pump (or two) in the tank to suppliment the fuel supply flow / pressure. Another local racer experienced the same thing and he fixed it by puttin a SUPRA TT pump in tank and joining it to the A1000 discharge. |
has anyone so far maxed out 2 walbro intank pumps?
this might cost me alot less to do, i can sell my used supra pump for $100 and then get 2 new walbros for $210. and i'll just run the stock lines for a while untill i notice fuel pressure drop. will the 2 walbros handle 2 850s, 2 1300s and 2 720s at say 70-75 psi? |
This is going to be my fuel setup:
right now I got a Walbro"Intank" 255 High Pressure Fuel Pump I plan to add a "Inline" Walbro 255 going thru a surge tank/swirl pot system Aussie style :D you will NEVER starv for fuel with this system period! |
when you say inline, you mean that you'll cut the feed line and put it there
(tank with intank pump)---------(another pump)-------motor--------return to intank pump ??? |
|
thank you very much :D
do you realy need the surge tank ? |
Zooq, Robert is going to do a ss lines, AN fittings,
aeromotive 1000hp pump, sumped tank- whole 9 yards on mycar- he can do same for you....its just money! |
oops, I think that may be the pump I was considering.
I may need to rethink that mod. I'm a long way from maxing the cosmo pump anyway. |

A Weldon 2025 would be a great pump....its expensive though

Hmm, I dont know....but hey, at least you'd know your pumps working :D

The A1000 is very loud too.
