What to use to seal A/N adapters to CHRA?

Ok..just an Off the cuff question.

I tried to use my Banjo bolt setup for the New turbo, only to find that the Old 16mm Banjo bolts do not fit in 14mm coolant hole threads!

SO..I got adapters.. Russell: 760520 : 14mm to -6 A/N.I am going to add 90 degree fittings and hose..Voila..Problem solved..sort of.

I tried to get copper crush washers at 3 Parts stores and nothing was close to the 14mm thread.

Can I use the aluminum adapters alone?...or toss some Threadlocker on the adapter then install the adapter onto the CHRA?

Opinions?Thanks Guys,.
STYX.

McMaster Carr sells metric copper washers. Their M14 washer has a 28mm OD, though. Not sure if that'd be a problem.

Pretty lame that the parts stores don't have a metric crush ring assortment.

Try some of your local repair shops, someone should have what you need.

Especially someone who works on old German cars.

The nearest "shop" is 50 miles from here...and it is a hit and miss thing.
I'm not close to the big city..more like out in the back country.
I just want to know if I can use what I have.
It's gonna be 50 degrees F today and this car is getting driven!

I don't think it's a good idea to use the adapters alone.

Thread locker might work, but might just doesn't cut it for me.

Are the holes on the turbo machined with bevels for o-rings?

I installed the turbo.(put Permatex on and that held some 16mm copper crush washers in place..crank down..Beautiful!)
Funny thing..Good connections at turbo..bad hose connection.
I found a 6 an with 2 90 degree fittings on it and cut one off to attach to the waterpump.(90 degree goes to turbo)
I start the car up and go WTF as I see drip,drip..
damn hose!

But the turbo is on..that is the main thing.

Thread locker won't last on something as hot as a turbo. Get some proper copper or aluminum sealing washers.

Go to your local parts store and ask for a Oil Drain Plug Gasket for a 99 Honda Accord 2.3l. In each store is a small hardware section, all organized by size. Thankfully, M14 oil drain plugs and their copper crush washers are super common and used on a TON of cars, including our rotaries.

Sometimes ya just gotta break it down so the people at the store understand what you want.
