what turbo is this? and what size downpipe do i need?

i bought the car from a guy i have known for quite some time, problem is, he built the car 6 or 7 years ago. it is almost done, but needs a few minor things. one of which is a downpipe. im not sure what turbo it is (he THINKS:scratch: its a greddy t-66, but ive searched and cant find anything) so im having a hard time finding a down pipe for this mysterious turbo:lol:. i know that it is a 3" v-clamp, but im not sure what size make/buy for a dwnpipe. a guy in town can make me one if its 3" or smaller, but the guy at turblown says not do go any smaller than 3.5, since its half-bridged. i also read that a guy did a 4" and it was too big. little help here?

also if i did something wrong, let me know. this is my first post. thanks!:)

I can tell you its not a GReddy just by looking at the compressor. See if you can find a part number or serial number anywhere on the turbo.

The turbo looks a bit small for a half brige, I would recommend pulling it apart to measure the compressor and turbine. Elliott is right, a 3.5" would be best for a half bridge, but if the turbo is very small anyway it doesnt matter that much. You can never go too big with a downpipe as long as it fits.

i figured it wasnt greddy, because all of their stuff is marked. but what size turbo is good for a half bridge? also, the only thing that resembles a serial number is the "j84" on the front of the compressor and the "5825" on the backside...

looks like an ebay "turbocharger" maybe godspeed or the like

Looks like an ebay unit. Only turbo that will probably work with that manifold and be halfway decent is a To4R. I would use a 1.15

Or if you want we could stuff a Q trim into a P trim turbine housing with something in the 70mm compressor range. Not cheap, but good match for a bridge...
