What size fuel lines?

Hey guys,

My fuel lines have already been replaced with SS braided lines, however I'm not sure what size they are. I'm going to be installing a fuel pressure gauge so I'll need to tap into the line, but I was thinking about re-doing the fuel lines again because they just look sloppy.

What size lines are you guys using on a S5 FC TII? Just worried about the lines in the engine bay. I read a post where one guy was using -10AN feed and -8AN return on a FD. The -10AN sounds a little big to me.

Thanks.

Depends on what power you're looking for. Are you running 1 pump or 2? If you're running one pump a -10 is overkill. You'd be fine with a -8 feed -6 return. If you're not going for that much power 500++, you can run a -6 feed and keep the stock return line.

8 send with the stock return is good for 500+

-6 feed and return is good for your set up....

I'm running 1 walbro 255lph fuel pump. 550/1600 injector setup. Upgraded single w/ E6K, FMIC, blah blah blah........rebuilt street port.

I've got a tunning session w/ Steven Khan on June 4th and I'm looking for around 400-450 RWHP.

So -6 feed and return should be ok?

Ok did not want to open a new thread but here it is

I will be installing a bigger turbo and was wondering what size fuel line to run.

I have a aeromotove 11108 external pump thinking of installing a fueltank sump 10an feed to filter 85micron then to inlet side pump then to a 10micron filter and after that to a Yblock 10an to my primary and secondary fuel rail (1000/1680) then to another yblock 10an to my fuel regulator. after that stock return size to tank.

Oh and also planning on running one of those ebay 20" fuelcooler. on the return.

What do you guys think

-6AN is the equivalent for the stock hardlines on the car, which is also capable of over 500whp on pump gas.

-10AN would be more for say an alcohol driven car with a 1000whp goal... driven by a massive pump

seriously guys, -10AN is stupid big for fuel lines! even -8AN is more than most will ever need for a supply line for a 700+whp pump gas capable car. if you go too large then the pump will not be able to properly flow the lines to raise pressure with boost.

even with the GT42 you won't need more than even a -8AN supply, Y to -6AN for each rail back to a -8AN return.

I'm no expert that's why I ask, so should replace the 10an with a 8an y block 6an instead for feed and leave the return stock should be just fine for let's say 600hp?

if that's the case would be easier and cheaper for me.

anyone else has more opinion on this
