What could be wrong??
Lately my car has been acting up. At about 3k rpm it sputters a little. It's not like the 3k rpm hesitation thing b/c my first FD had it so I know it's not it. Another thing is that my fuel pressure guage isn't reading correctly. It's moving up and down crazily so I can't monitor my fuel pressure. The gauge on my fuel pressure regulator is dead so I can't monitor it from their either. What would be the ideal fuel pressure at idle? WOT?
Thanks for any help. |
when last did you change your filter(s)?
|
with that description, it could be anything.
|
You answered your own question in your description. If your fuel pressure gauge is being sporadic and all over the place then there is a breach in the fuel system that is causing it to depressurize.
I would go into your trunk, pull out the fuel pump and check where the fuel pump mates up with the metal pipe. If yours is still connected stock (using an O-ring to seal), try getting some hose and connecting both ends and clamping it down. |
idle = 38-40psi
then 1:1 |
Check filter, check pump as well as voltage to it, check lines, if possible, swap in another regulator they can go bad as well.
|
he could also have a bad fuel pressure sender or bad wiring...

All of the normal posible faults have been listed.
If they fail, then: it is an affect caused by living too close to the Bermuda Triangle! |
