Wastegate vaccum ?

Ok guys well I just got my street port 6port hx52 up and running . Working on maps and such and now tuning into boost . Well i don't think my wastegate is working right . So I'm trying to test if the diaphragm is working or not If I apply vaccum with a handheld vac pump it should hold vac at whatever spring is in right ? Cause my hks wastegate is not . Let me know what you guys think . Thanks for any insight

Don't use vacuum. Use positive pressure. To test mine, I used a good pressure gauge (2-5/8" mechanical Autometer boost gauge) and my air compressor.
I backed the regulator for the compressor all the way out and watched the gauge and wastegate valve as I slowly turned it back up.
Don't crank it up too high as you can tear the diaphragm.
You'll find that it's not an on/off switch either, it slowly opens around the set pressure. This is why boost controllers with a "start boost" or spring setting.
They keep the wastegate from seeing boost until you reach the pressure set point so the wastegate opens quickly rather than gradually.
This can make a noticeable difference in spool time.

Thanks man for the help . I actually did what you said , but right before I noticed something stupid . I had my line hooked to the wrong wastegate nipple . But did check to see if it work by doing what you said . Thanks again
