Wastegate Advice Needed

All,

I just purchased a Greddy T78 (the same one that was for sale on the forum in the "for sale" section")

I now have to get a wastegate and I don't want to make any mistakes since they are kinda expensive.

I am planning on running 15psi on the street and 20-27psi on the track.

I need some advice on a reliable wastegate to get which is reasonably priced.

I have heard good things about the HKS wastegate but can I use the 40mm or do I need the 60MM. Will I get boost creep if I use the 40mm?

What wastegates are you all using?
Also, where did you purchase them from and cost?

Thanks in advance!

Anthony

As far as I understand it, you can't get too big a wastegate. Unless it physically won't fit in the engine bay of course :).

As for whether the 40mm will flow enough for you I'm not really sure, but I would think you should be fine. I think there are a few people using the 40mm with no probs.

Probably better to wait for an expert opinion though.

See ya.

Gordon,

Thanks for the reply, before I posted this I glanced at that post and thought it was all about materials. After reading I then realized it answered all my questions and more.

Thank you for the response.

I'm using the HKS 40 mm. It works well.

Jim how much boost are you running with the 40mm? When you start reacing higher boost levels like he plans on doing (27psi) that he going to need a larger diamater wastegate (50mm) to be more efficient :)
