waste gate boost line

hi guys does anyone have any theorys about where to connect waste gate boost line i.e fit to turbo compressor outlet or pipe elbow before throttle body the setup is on a gen 3 rx7 with single turbo and external tial gate

I reccomend the compressor outlet. Faster response in my experience.

I use one of the nipples on the UIM --> MBC --> solenoid --> WG

of course the solenoid probably isn't needed, some may say they don't like their WG to see vacuum.

only reasoning behind my set-up is, with a MBC the WG will open earlier than MAX boost...I'd rather feed it after the IC (pressure drop). My solenoid is to keep any signal from getting there...say my spring will allow for the WG to start opening at 12psi, I won't show it a signal until 15psi and the MBC will hold at 17psi.

I had smoother boost control after moving it from the turbo outlet over to the throttle body elbow.

does anybody have any pictures so taht i can see what you mean?

The stock twins took it from the front (#1) turbo outlet. There it went to the WG actuator through it to the WG solenoid then to atmosphere.

Similar logic for a single except for most have external WGs.
You can get the boost pressure anyware from the compressor outlet and before the throttle body. Most go to the compressor outlet. But this tends to be a little more erratic than after the IC which tends to dampen sudden pressure surges which the intake will not feel.

This then goes to the side of the WG and to the IN side of the solenoid. Some people use the same souce for both, some use two different sources. What ever works best for your own application is what you should use.

i tried using the boost source from just before the throttle butterflys in the throttle head there was no noticeable increase in boost pressure but car seemed to be more responsive in acceleration and online boost was better there seems to be a difference in the boost curve versus rpm from the two different locations this might have somthing to do with pressure drop across the i/c the car has been converted to single turbo setup and has no solenoid for boost control any more comments im all ears
