V mount questions

I am in the middle of a seemingly never ending build.

94 FD
A-spec kit with PT6266
Fully upgraded fuel system
Haltech,
etc...

Anyhow we have this Pettit intercooler kit and now that I'm fitting it up, I'm just not feeling it.
the duct work looks like it will restrict airflow through the radiator and doesn't really fit as good as I would like. It may be adequate, but I'm concerned that with heavy road circuit use it may create issues.

I'm looking at changing directions towards a V-mount using this intercooler and getting a radiator configured for this type of setup.

Is there a particular vendor/brand that anyone could recommend? Or maybe more importantly one to stay away from?

I am very handy with fabrication and can weld aluminum, so I was even thinking about some kind of generic radiator (Fluidyne?) and customize it for this application.

Really I'd just like some insight if anyone has some to offer.

Also I've been pouring over anything I can find on v-mount installs and so far have not really found any solid guidelines or such to do something like this from scratch.
If you know of any good links you could share, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give,
Victor

I have been running the rx7store.net vmount for over 2 years notwithstanding no issues. The price is hard to beat and Jason was always available to help with install. I relocated my battery to the rear but you may get away with a thin version. You will have to fab up some ducting, all in all I have no complaints. Good luck.

The battery has already been relocated to accommodate the Pettit intercooler
and I'm figuring to just use this intercooler.

So you have the modified Koyo radiator? do you do any road courses?

Do you have some good pics of your install you'd like to share?

The kit came with a modified rad. The website has several pics of the kit installed, mines apart for a rebuild at the moment. I have taken it out many times on the track with no cooling issues.

I use the eBay V mount Radiator, only had to modify one of the tabs on the OEM fans to make it fit, ran it for over a year without cooling issues.

Vicoor we modify a koyo and move the inlet and outlet to the same side. You could take your pettit intercooler and lay it flat with the openings block side. Fab some piping and use a vmount radiator and it should be good.

Do you have radiator hoses to go with the radiator?

You can get pretty much any length flexible radiator hose to accomplish what you need. I'm using Goodyear flexible radiator hose from summit and had no issues at all.
