Upgrades to stock FC HT-18 turbo.

What can you do to these things to make them all they can be? I'm not looking for an astronomical HP number from my S5, If this thing layed 280-300 on the ground it would just be enough not to melt tires on trips to the store. Besides, I think too much more power would hurt at the track. Anyone know what works best? and dont say t04, gt35, gt40, t66, t70, blah, blah, blah. The amount of crap to install and tune is beyond how much I like rotories. Just stock/hybrid/junkyard stuff, someones bound to have done it before. Thanks in advance,

BNR makes hybrid turbos using T04 parts. A stage II or III should get you to that power level.

People have been making hybrids for years, though.

But for 280-300rwhp, you'll still need that "crap to install and tune". You'll need fuel, a front mount, full exhaust, and at the very least a piggyback fuel controller. A full EMS would be better than a piggyback, though.

I guess I should have elaborated a little, about the crap to install and tune part, sorry about that, I was in a hurry when I posted earlier. Better fuel is easy. A front mount, I'd rather not do, but I will if nessicery.Speaking of which, does anyone know where to source aluminum tubing in various bends? I can't seem to find any other than the HKS universal kit. (thats just in case, of course). And the full exhaust has already been done.

More specifically, I was talking about the ECU. With a big turbo, it's almost, if not compleatly nessicery to run a stand alone fuel computer. Theres just no way in hael i'm gonna spend $2000 on a computer, have someone I dont trust install it, the have someone else I don't trust tune it on a chassis dyno. I'll stick to my SAFC and tune it with my ass.

Anyway, I just wanted to clarify. Thanks for the info, i'll look into BNR. Are all T04 compressors the same other than the trim and AR? thanks agin

go to www.atpturbo.com

they have great prices. . . walls are a little thin, but thats okay. their bender seems to like to crimp the portions that it clamps to. . . so you might wanna get a pipe expander so you can make that portion true again. other than that. . . great prices and great service!!!!
