Turbonetics 60-1, eBay SSAutoCrapper manifold. It'll be a good set up provided u have a good free exhaust, fuel and tuned (full boost {15 psi } around 3000 RPM (give or take a few 100) and peak power around 370~410 dependent on your set up and tune.

soooo, good?
should i replace the manifold with a name brand?

RacerXtreme7 05-12-09 04:04 PM

Personally I would replace the manifold, but I have the means of creating my own. If you don't have the means to make your own (doesn't sound like it), or have the loot to spring for a named brand or custom, that one will work fine. If it cracks or breaks, you could replace it with another one identicle from eBay for less then $200 shipped.

oh, thanks!

Jim at jpr in blackwood nj is selling custom stainless manifolds. I don't know the price but I think it's around $500. I am running one, no cracks.

Thats an awfully cheap price for custom stainless.

i'll have to look in to that, also someone told me that i should replace the oil drain line nipple with a longer one so the line doesnt melt against the headers (witch im heat wrapping) should i do that?

I have one of thows "eBay SSAutoCrapper manifold" and I have put it under the highest of temps (1900+F) and it hasn't died yet.

60-1 is kinda laggy turbo... a friend uses it on his 2.5 skyline and boost kicks in at over 4k revs (and tuned by KOYAMA from JUN motorsports so the tuning is pretty good:P)

i would go for a gt35r if i had the chance to choose/change ur setup

x mazda rx7 x 05-13-09 08:34 PM

would a gt35r work with my manifold?

It is NOT a laggy turbo. Give the GT35R an equivalent turbine housing and the same manifold set ups and the GT35R will spool quicker minimally (we're talking 100's RPM or so quicker). You can't compare a turbo with completely different specs and completely different engines. That would be apples to oranges my friend.
