Turbo Manifold
hello, its me again with another question for the club!
well i managed to buy off my friends t70 t04z ball bearing turbo off him, a bit pricey only 3k miles on it , 800 bucks. decent buy i guess. its on its way from Michigan. well, what turbo manifold should i get to be able to fit it right without a problem and what downpipe should i get with it. links will help out alot. thanks guy it means alot to everyone that helps me out, and that have helped me out in my other posts here the specs of the turbo 4" Inlet Diameter 2.5" Outlet Diameter Wet Floating Bearing T4 Flange Oil Inlet M12X1.5 Compressor Wheel Ind: 2.23" Exd:3" 0.70 A/R Turbiner Wheel 3.6" Hot Side Ind: 2.30" Exd: 2.91" 0.68 A/R |
For starters you need to get a bigger turbine housing. Pdepending on what your using the car for look for a .84-.96 p-trim housing.
As for a manifold you can either go custom($$$$$$) or what I had for many years was a Hks fc3s cast manifold. Which isn't bad for thee price and still capable of making decent power on (made 525 on the same turbo with a Hks cast manifold at 22psi). |

What turbo did you buy exactly? A T70, T04Z, and the specs you have listed are 3 different turbos

thanks for the input, im really only looking to hit around 400whp nothing more then 450whp i got some other mods waiting for the turbo.
would this manifold fit that turbo/and leave enough clearance around the engine and chassis ? RX-7 Turbo Manifold That manifold will work fine for your turbo but you will also need a downpipe and wastegate. As was pointed out the exhaust side on that turbo is not ideal and you are going to have a hard time hitting 400hp. |

hey thanks alot! for your reply also, would i have enough room with that size turbo, because it seems a bit tight in that area, im removing all emission controls, and heating for inside the car, "i live in florida, no need for that" lol

T67 is a popular turbo. .84 is the smallest I would go on that. Most go with an A/R between .90-1.00.

hey, my friend said thanks for answering his question, also whats the diameter? in total would it fit nicely in or would it be bumping on the 4knuckled uim and the chassis?
Most of the time the downpipe is a custom unit. |

You can fit any turbo that you want on your car and it will clear................you just need the correct manifold. Is all about the exhaust manifold.Honestly we cant answer your question there is 2 many variables. Most people get a custom made manifold that clear everything and position the turbo up and forward........a short runner manifold with a on center housing is a tight fit but the same manifold with a non on center housing might fit....do you understandwhat im saying?First get the correct AR and type of housing for the turbo then a manifold and after that you are gonna need the downpipe........again depending on where the turbo sits and what type of housing you get(V clamp or regular housing)
Most of the time the downpipe is a custom unit. thanks for the input |
I have a ss autochrome divided manifold for the fc(same design as fd but built for fc)with a 1.15 tangential housing v-clamp outlet and it clears everything! The manifold got all the welds redone and some bracing was added 2.

People are telling you to get a bigger turbine housing for the t70/to4z that your have.
Meaning you dont need another turbo. Changing housing AR's doesn't change the exterior dimensions of turbine housing. Your manifold would be fine. But they are cheap and are known to crack. Reinforcing the manifold by adding braces would help out. The downpipe will have to be custom no matter what you do. You already are peicing you own turbo kit. There is no off the shelf down pipe option for you. |
I carry a downpipe that works with the SS autochrome manifold and vband turbo.
