Turbo Caculator

Has anyone use that Turbo Calculator program to select the right turbo for your RX7?? Trying to find a turbo that will give me great spooling and power. Its going to be driven on the street.

Mods 1993 FD
3.5" DP to 3" REAmiya duck tail exhaust
E6K
4x850s
front mount apexi cooler
rx7.com pump
FP regulator
street ported motor
Was running a TS04 Turbonetics(they suck)

Any help would be greatly appriciated

Thanks Diego

What kind of power are you looking to make? There are a couple of great spooling turbos out there that can still hit the mid 400rwhp range. Or are you looking to get into the 500whp range?

Hey Zack

I was looking for 450-475 range.

armanielite 09-16-05 04:46 PM

for the 450rwhp + area i would personally run 2x 1600's along with 2x 850's at least thats what i have and a/f's are very safe( also running 2 walbros) 440rwhp @ 16psi........i have a t-78 and love it..i do drive on the street almost all of the time

but im sure you'll get varied responces

I like my P trim 67, good for 450@18, 480@20, and 500+above that. I use 1680/720, and it's good to 500+rwhp.

Thanks guys Hey Carl what turbo are you exactly using?

BoostedRex 09-17-05 11:18 PM

I was about to suggest the same turbo that Carl is running for the power level you want. From Carl's dyno charts that turbo is a BEAST and it's at a great price.

FYI the GT40 from Turbo Calculater is for a Scandia truck.Thats why its sooooo heavy and you then need to cut the casting and the weld a flange or have one made like I did.
Then the bolt pattern didnt fit a standerd manifold.
I sold this and never used it. TC should show you what you are getting 1st.
I have the TO4R instead.

Not to jack the thread but I'm looking to be making 300-350 at the rear wheels and was debating between a t04E and a KKK27 turbo any thoughts?

Carl Byck 09-18-05 05:55 PM

I'm using a PT67 .81 P trim. I did not dyno at lower than ~18psi, but about 400 at 15, it really wants ~20ish psi. They are ~1000.00 new, ~800 used. Carl
