which turbo is bigger than a T78?

Would have gotten a T78 but some one told me that he can custom everything but just needs a turbo.

Im trying to Make 500HP @ 20lbs like RX7.store did on their T78.
SO im asking which turbo is equal to the t78's power

Turbonetics T-66, T70, T72, T76

dont know which to buy but it will be a q-trim.
I know the lag on each of these turbos but any one know which will give me that same power as the t78 (500hp @20lbs

A "real" T88, T-70, or a T-72 "should" all do that. Talk to SPOAutos, I believe that he is familiar with the T-72 and could give you some great info on what it's capable of. Best of luck to you.

spoautos have a website?

sillbeer 05-16-05 05:17 PM

The greddy T78 is a 68mm turbo. A greddy T88 is a 72mm turbo.

that really helps out alot! thanks Destin

its just that a t78 is great & everything but i dont have T78 money. So since im going for a turbonetics im trying to find out which turbo i can get where i can have the same power as a T78. but theres so many fake turbonetics turbos like, GT/Masterpower/turbos.inc i needed the specs on the t78 .

The Greddy T78 is alittle smaller in size than Garrett T70

How would a T88 compare to a GT40R?

Mitsubishi T88 is more comparable to a Garrett GT42 (larger trim) in size. The GT40R is slightly smaller in compressor wheel size than a Mitsu T78.

Just buy the Garrett GT42RS
The only problem..... the price

Look at this link

Thats a good price. You could buy 2 greddy t88's for that much.

I'd go with a PT series turbo from Precision Turbos which the name of series matches with the mm size. Kabooski on the board here made 520 @ 19psi on a PT67.

How big is the R85 in comparison?

BoostedRex 05-17-05 02:46 PM

I totally forgot about the R85, that is supposed to be one hell of a turbo. Might be worth checking on that one! The price for the kit is pretty good too.

so to sumarize this up which turbo equals to the T72. if the guy is right then the t78 will be smaller than the t72 and the t72 with a Q trim will spool more quicker than a t78

I would highly doubt a Q-trim T72 would spool quicker than a T78.. everything else being equal.

BoostedRex 05-18-05 12:59 PM

I can promise that a Q-trim T-72 will not spool faster than a T78!! But you will have a lot more horsepower with the T-72.
