Who is "Nelson" and why should he be the preferred tuner?

There are several established tuning shops within a reasonable distance from you that have a pretty good history and also have a reputation to maintain (so they're more likely to fix mistakes).

He's an extremely talented tuner that I've witnessed tune 7 cars first hand now. He tunes Kyle Mohan's drift car at Mazdatrix, 3 rotor at 1300rwhp. He's also tuned my engine along with 6 of my buddies cars. He does really exceptional work with smoothing the timing and fuel curve. But his most exceptional work is attention to transient throttle/accelerator pump settings, fail safes, and his overall approach to protecting the engine. I very highly recommend him.

Ah, right on!

Yeah, definitely had no idea who he was and figured it's best to ask considering the importance of engine mapping with regards to how the car will perform

Depending on date / location, I'd be down for him to tune my 20b car. I've already contacted him regarding this.

so the plan is for us to agree on getting tuned, then we can talk about a central location and date. there is currently no date of place planned.

I think July is goon be too hot to tune these cars, if we can plan for the last week of May or the 1st week of June, I can be in the count and possiblyof another fd .btw what does the shop charge per dyno time? Don't want to be surprised when getting tune that day.

well we have to still pick a dyno that is within good distance for all of us and ask about dyno rental for a day or 2

Depending on where the area we want, I know a place or two around Annapolis in Maryland, but I am guessing PA will be more central to everyone since there are NY/NJ people.

I am also located in MD and would be down for it in Annapolis. How many do we need to solidify tune date?

Not sure if it's too out of the way for everyone, but I'm fairly sure I have a shop in Long Island that would have no issue hosting.

I'd definitely be interested if it was hosted on Long Island.. the sooner the better.. is it $500 plus the dyno fees?

Correct. I was thinking of contacting IR Performance to see if he would be willing to host the dyno day.
