Tuned a To4s last night: butt dyno results

Rx7store did a great job installing a XS T04s kit on a customers car. Had the oppourtunity to tune the car. Maybe SOMEONE will post some pics?

Butt dyno impressions (pun) are that it resembles the GT35/40, without the top end. Spools fast, maybe a little faster than the GT35/40, then sits in a sweet spot until redline. Not the huge 6K+ PUNCH of a T78, it just builds and goes about it's business very nicely. The GT35/40 seems to build more and keep going longer. I prefer this turbo over the Rx6, since it seems to have more 'results', almost as quick.

I had the car squatting in 3rd gear pulls at 1.1 kg/cm boost....the rear end hunkered down and the car pulled really nice. The curve felt strong at high rpm, albeit missing some umph at 2500-3500 rpm.

Very nice turbo for the street/strip/terrorize your local viper club.

You really start needing sticky meats on the rear, or at least temperatures warm enough to keep from spinning at will in almost any gear when you drop the LOUD pedal.

sweet. you need to tune NYCREDREX's T04S on his 94 ;)

T04S was used on Peter Farrell's car, making over 600 horsepower at the wheels. Very impressive.

Tires? I've got a T04S also and I'm running 225/50 rears (stock size) with R compound rubber... spins in 1st, 2nd, and even 3rd.

Any idea what your friend has on his car?

yeah i need tuning!! vosko, i have a 93 but thanks for thinkin it was a 94. I run 265 S0-3's and in the summer it sticks in 3rd @ 16 psi. I run them on road races too and their pretty good but i'd rather get victoracers for that. Slips alot in 2nd but not too bad. I had 225 high end tires before and they spun through 3rd.

My car was tuned a year ago to 15 @ KDR and runs very solid. It made 363 rwhp @ 15 psi. I've run it as high as 18 psi on 104 unleaded. The first post about the T04S not getting that kick at high rpm's is true. I ran a GT3540 and it started to pull strongly away at the top of 4th. I would like to see what timing adj. can do and also to get pfc maps to 22 psi. I'm just kinda scared of messin with the maps cause the car runs so solid.

I surprised alot of people at the road races.

I can get you a sample PFC map with pressure cells to 22 or 24psi in the next couple of weeks assuming the weather here stays nice enough to finish my tweaking.

The map will also include RPM cells to 9000rpm (where I like to shift with this new engine... :D )

Nocab, finally someone (you) is going to prove me wrong on the "GT35/40 =500hp I don't think so " Thread. I just cranked my baby sized TO4 up to 26psi, It's fast, but not fast enough:D I can't wait(but I'll have to) for a dyno from you at that kind of boost... I may hit the dyno in a couple of weeks with Chuck from rotaryextreme. He's running a T51KAI, so it should be interesting. At this point I am also looking at a PT67h from precision. My buddy made +/- 700rwhp on it w/ his Supra. Problem is this was at 30psi:eek: It's supposed to be similar to a T66 but with wayyyy faster spool due to a new wheel from Garrett. We shall see. Good luck, Carl
