TO4R IN A/R .72 EX A/R .81 ptrim

How would this turbo run on a 13bt with a nice streetport? I use to think it would be too slow but after searching for a day and a half it looks like alot of people think that .81 and .83 are great for street use. Yes it may choke up top end but if i can get 400-450rwhp on this setup I'll be cool.........for now :)

GUITARJUNKIE28 05-07-06 02:06 AM

wouldn't try to get 450 from that hot side on pump gas reliably, but 400 should be ok.

jacobcartmill 05-07-06 02:33 AM

carl byck made 508whp with his .81 ptrim hotside.

i'd say you can make 450whp on pumpgas with that turbo. however, it depends on what your definition of "reliably" is, since its A: a rotary making big power, and B: a turbo car making big power.

hondahater 05-07-06 07:53 AM

thanks guys, I'm thinking 450 should be obtainable and I never said anything about reliable, I know better than that haha. was carl byck using a to4r with that hotside or was he using a pt67? I guess these turbos are pretty close in comparison.

CrackHeadMel 05-07-06 10:38 AM

he used a pt67

black beauty 05-07-06 12:34 PM

im running a t04r on my halfbridge port....cant wait for some good numbers

carl was also running 109 or 110 race gas. not even the same ballpark as 91 octane. you probably "can" make 450, but why risk it? if you wanna run that close to the ragged edge you're just gonna break stuff.

carl's turbo was a pt67 with .81 p-trim

myR1 05-07-06 12:53 PM

I have a To4R on my stock reman, last dno was 390 rwhp @15 psi.. As long as your fuel system can support it you should be able to get around 450 with a street port.

hondahater 05-07-06 02:26 PM

thats what i'm looking for. If I wanted to stay with my 400rwhp I would just tune my bnr stage IV more agressively however with a to4r I should be able to make more than a hybrid right? It just wouldn't sound right if I didn't.

so what are you saying? go .96 and obtain 450 more reliably?

GUITARJUNKIE28 05-07-06 03:27 PM

we get 91 octane in california. if you'r ein one of the places that gets 93-94 octane, you'll have an easier time getting the power reliably. i'd do water/meth injection at least. the closer to the edge you get, the less room you have for error....the hot day, the cold day, the fuel filter, pump, dirty injectors, etc etc etc....

hondahater 05-07-06 05:47 PM

I gotcha, cool! well I'm in louisiana so we get pretty good gas here being that we are close to the gulf. I am going to try and get rid of my old school fmic infavor of a larger custome setup as well as I think your right about water/meth injection, I'll go ahead and install this too, money permitting of course. Would you get a two stage or just one stage aquamist kit? thanks man for the help so far it's appreciated greatly!

Turblown 05-08-06 12:09 AM

You can always swap your turbine housing if necessary. I would start with atleast a 1.0..

Why not just make your kit, its soo easy...

hondahater 05-08-06 07:18 AM

I actually found someone selling a to4r for a damn good price so I kinda just wanna scoop it up. I really like the idea of it spooling quickly however if yall don't think i can make 450 on a .81 hotside then I'll just sell the hotside and get a bigger one. Thanks for the info so far guys.

Bukwild 05-08-06 07:42 AM

I have a .81 backside and if for some reason I have to change it up to the next size its only $120 bucks from Precision turbo.

Zero R 05-08-06 10:23 AM

TO4R with a 1.0 divided is perfect for all around use good spool nice up top. I usually have them here.

hondahater 05-08-06 01:58 PM

so how much :)

Zero R 05-08-06 03:08 PM

PM'd

GUITARJUNKIE28 05-08-06 06:02 PM

can you get ahold of any of the vtg's yet?

hondahater 05-08-06 06:49 PM

oh I thought you where just talking about the hotside itself zero I didn't know you where talking for the hole turbo. Reason I'm going with a to4r is because I'm getting a pretty good deal on it and a 50mm wg so if I do get it it will be that one however I don't mind buying a .96 or 1.0 hotside from you :)

Zero R 05-09-06 09:44 AM

I can sell just the hotside, let me know when :)

I have come across VGT's in the past so unless things have changed I should still be able to.

GUITARJUNKIE28 05-09-06 12:14 PM

hit me up and let me know what you can get.

holset, garrett, borg...

hondahater 05-09-06 03:06 PM

oh fuck! it looks like some dip shit bought the turbo out from under me :( Time for the masterpower t70.............Now how about this. what kind of power do you think I can get from a masterpower t70 and a .84 hotside? I really want to keep lag down to a minimal but if yall think .96 is better then just let me know.

CrackHeadMel 05-09-06 07:27 PM

phenioxturbo has an add in the latest dsport for t04r's starting at 899. dono what you were going to pay but just to let you know

thats more like!
A MP T-70 will flow alot more than a T04R(T66) . the mpT-70 compressor is rated at aprox 80lbs or 800+hp, so the comp is good for an easy 600whp. Id stick with the .84 for the boost responce and use the flow and boost stabilty of the larger t70 to hold 22psi+ to redline for well over 500whp.

If you want to run less boost then use smaller mp like t64 or t61.
and if you want to run more hp then go with the mp gt Q trim wheel and mp1.00ar turbine housing.

send me a pm if your interested.

hondahater 05-10-06 08:01 AM

Thanks boby I appreciate your input! I'm basically looking for around 450rwhp on pump gas and with relitively quick spool. would that master power t70 do this for me? Will I have to be in the 20psi range with an .84 backside to achieve this or could I get 450 at 17psi or so? Reason I just want 450 for now is so I can keep my rx7.com fuel pump and my rubber hosed fuel system for now until I get a tad bit more money to go ahead and get stainless steal everything along with a big fuel pump. I will have a big fmic, microtech, 890cc primaries and 1600cc secondaries as well as more than likely water/meth injection. Thanks again man!
