Tial wastegate size question
Hi, i check my Tial wastegate and i don't understand this.
The wastegate size is 38mm but the in and out hole is about 35mm. This is normal or this wastegate is not 38mm but 35mm? |
My tial 46mm has a flange that's only 40mm. The valve is 46mm though. Always felt like that was kind of silly.

It's how the poppet valve operates.
Yeah, you're right - it is sort of a con. This is why the Turbosmart(?) brand of wastegates started to advertise their orifice size versus the valve size. Their 45mm wastegate functions more like a 50mm wastegate by other manufacturers. http://www.turbosmart.com.au/wastegates.htm -Ted |

Hi RX7 TURBO2.
Thanks for this 38mm wastegate, i just check why the 38mm wastegate have not 38mm hole, and if is same with all brand (not for blast you) Because last year i run with Audi wastegate 31mm hole and is too small. I thing i put (pop off valve) this year with this wastegate. Or i put 2 38mm wastegate.;) |
