TD06H 20G Questions
 

Just a couple of quick questions. I have searched quite a bit and I am getting a lot of conflicting information.

1. Wastegate pressure source
I understand that the best source would be a tap into the compressor housing itself, but the turbo kit greddy made way back doesn't have one included. I spent a long time tracking down the manual for the kit, but there is no information on the pressure source. Is it acceptable to run the line from the UIM after the throttle plates? I am thinking that if the kit was designed this way it shouldn't be an issue. Hopefully someone can chime in if they have issues using a source after the throttle plates.

2. Wastegate itself
Since I am new to turbos in general this may sound like a stupid question, but I am wondering what is the best way to identify what type of wastegate came with this kit. The manual says nothing. I would like to know what type of spring came with the kit. (Greddy is no help either.... This kit is way too old!)

you can use either source and it will work fine.

if there are no source materials for your WG re the spring my advice is to run it to find out.

sort of like "we need to pass this bill to find out what's in it"

boost pressure off the spring does not necessarily relate to the actual spring pressure rating as many other factors intercede.
