TD06-20g and 60-1 dyno info?
I am trying to find some decent dyno results from these two turbos. Not really looking for peak # possible, but spool time.
I am looking for the best response turbo to get me ~325whp, so if there are better options, by all means please point me in the right direction. *edit* this would be on a stock port s4 motor with all the normal needed/expected bolt-ons* Thanks much! |
mods, if this needs to be moved to a better location please do. I search and didnt find what I was looking for ;)

Just a lil bit of theory here...
With stock ports youd need to bump up the pressure ratio to huff more air through them vs bigger ports, which means you need a efficient turbo, and/or a good FMIC. Alky injection could be helpful as well.. and for gods sake get a standalone, man. From what little information I've gotten from the FC CPU, its junk. Personally I'd go with MS because its not ridiculously expensive, but thats me. Also, supposedly someone got 400 whp from a stock S4. I forgot where the thread is, though. |

I remember that one, it was with a Hybrid turbo. hitachi hot side with a to4e compressor and wheel ported wastegate etc. The 20 G will spool pretty quickly, maybe a little restricitve though, it seems that most of the guys looking at 06's are useually looking for the 25 g housing instead. kenn |

Plans are for a haltech or microtech car will have the standard front mount or a fab'd vmount fuel pump, bigger primary and secondary etc etc. All the must do's. |
The TD06-20g is on average a 350-375 whp turbo on a 2.0L DSM. Sure it might reach your horsepower levels, but at the level it'll probably be wheezing pretty good. I like Mitsu turbos but they are so outclassed these days by newer technology. They are pretty much cutting edge for 1970. I'd recommend a 60-1 hands down, or better yet, something GT-series.

Stay away from the Mitsubishi stuff, especially when using low boost levels (i.e. under 15psi).

get a GT series turbo... hands down the most efficient out there. especially if you're only looking for 325 - 350rwhp. GT35R will handle that with ease on a pump gas tune. WOOWOOOOOOO!!!!

hell with a GT series turbo, UNLESS it's a 35/40. The compressor map for the 60-1 is just about PERFECT for a 13B running 12psi of boost (i.e. 330rwhp). Use a 60-1 compressor, P-Trim exhaust wheel, and something like a .84 divided exhaust housing, or maybe even one size down for crazy spool.
