Did a few pulls yesterday morning. So I made a crappy vid for all to enjoy/critisise.

This was all on 94 Octane! With a Coolingmist dual stage water injection system 50/50 h20/meth.
Garret T04Z w/ 1.00 a/r 3" DP with Tial 44mm WG open to atmosphere
Power FC and a Greddy Profec B

Engine Build and Tune by Chris Sanders at www.Banzai-Racing.com
More fuel and see if we can crack 600 rwhp on 94 w/h20.

RICE RACING 07-21-07 09:32 AM

absolutley fantastic ! and 100% perfect correlation for boost increase to HP increase too !!

sqrt (26.5/17) x 414 = 517 or thereabouts exactly what you achieved for the extra boost ;)

that my friend is alot of power....... to do 600rwhp if you keep the same trend you will need over 36psi boost !

RICE RACING 07-21-07 09:34 AM

You have a honest 600bhp now, surley that must be enough for you :)

whats it feel like on the road?

Asleep 07-21-07 09:36 AM

Awesome! What a beast. Just have Chris address that lean spike at 5500rpm. That last pic of the engine bay almost blinded me. I had to put my shades on! :D

Congratulations!

Tony

Thanks guys. It's absolutely nuts to drive! I have driven alot of fast cars as well as some quick bikes, this thing takes the cake.

excellent results. i fall more and more in love with the T04Z with each day. your results show me that it can get me where i want to be in terms of power and torque. just need to get a good T04R plot to compare and make my final decisions. i guess $600 really isn't a lot when the totals come in.

thanks. keep up the good work and i look for forward to see you water injection results.

You know what is real intersting fact is that Frode of this forum dynoed his engine on his workds engine dyno rig and it runs a T66 1.0 rear trim (similar to To4Z) and very very similar boost (28 falling to 25psi) layed down 580bhp @7500rpm....... running wait for it PUMP fuel and water injection ;)

Great stuff indeed and having had a road car with that much proven power I bet its damn quick :) :) :)

Jason 07-21-07 11:56 AM

Looks good, but you should be making more power at those boost levels. 420-430RWHP at 15 lbs is typical on that setup.

Good looking setup.

Nice work!

Bad ass bro. Must be crazy on the street!

This from a guy in 700's..Keep up the good work Ernie, lets see some 9's!
I throughly enjoy the ride it can be very scary at times. Actually this is the first time this car has scared me. Third gear pulls are over pretty damb quick.

BDC 07-21-07 07:03 PM

Tell me -- what percentage of your overall fuel in the charge is the 50/50 mix of water/methanol?

I almost want to agree with you on that one.

BDC are you asking my water injecor sizes or something else?

could not agree any less, your talking about 5% differences of power with maybe no/little consideration for the many factors that towards making *a number*, I would say given the owners past experience of fast cars/bikes + his feedback of how the car is performing it is indeed one of the rare cars that ACTUALLY has the power that the dyno claims :) :) :)

He is talking about having the same level of power as a Ferrari F40 @ 17psi, his FD could do 300kph in top gear easily given the power curve posted and rev range on low boost & at high boost he could do 324kph or 200mph !!!! again given his feedback this is totaly achievable and for once (does not happen often) the power figures are believable and back up other sources of information and in this case would be backed up in reality on a track or on the highway/freeway as well :) :) :) ***note it has the gearing and power band to do this, not to mention power 8600rpm in top gear = 200mph***
here is a vid of some FD's showing graphicaly what can be done on this power level, these are the fastest track FD's in japan and lap not far off 800bhp GTR's
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aD45t...elated&search=

Stock RZ fd with 280bhp does a recorded 253.8kph (157.7mph) top speed, simple math shows the figures above to be achievable based of his dyno power x 1.15 to give estimate of real engine power). On 400m test it should trap about 126mph on low boost and 135mph on the higher figure.

How anyone could be disapointed or say you should expect more is beyond me totaly especialy given the owners enthusiasm for the result.

Thats the thing lots of people dont realize who dont have the geniune power or run that much boost (26+psi), the higher gears you go in the more it seems to keep pulling and pulling like crazy, you can grab 4th then 5th and take it to your rev limiter (just like in vid i posted) and you WILL be doing 200mph on ANY piece of road cause you genuinley have the power to do such a thing ;) i know from engine dyno results that its legitimate and can say to you relax. 600bhp is no small achievement, in such a light car its 200mph.

You can see countless examples of how damn fast that really is and can be both in acceleration and top speed, i have a good video of a R33 GTR that has 650ps (engien power) and the thing does 314kph on a speed bowl, another of a Corvette with only 600bhp and it does 317kph on same test, the scoot FD that set the road FD land speed record only did it having 630bhp (327.3kph) and that was with a T51R semi pp engine running same boost as you ;)

I would not go for anymore *dyno queen numbers* personaly, you will shorten the life of your engine for very little GAIN in anything but appealing to wankers on the internet, keep it real and enjoy what you have for its pretty special mate ;)

Jason 07-21-07 10:22 PM

I wasent stating he should be disappointed with his numbers. Just pointing out that setup should be making more power at a given boost level. Yes, there are a few factors that go into getting that number. Im just basing it off the many cars I have tuned with that same setup.

He should be happy with 400 and 500HP. No need to go and change anything based off the numbers. That is plenty of power for most people and Im sure a blast to drive.

Jason

ROTARYFDTT 07-21-07 10:40 PM

nice numbers, makes me want to go get the 7 out of the garage.

Zero R 07-22-07 12:41 AM

Just so it's clear I wasn't knocking Jason's comment or knocking the car. We have done a few TO4Z setups here. We see, as Jason stated, a little more hp usually. As example the one car ran 458@17psi on a .84 turbine, another did the same power on a 1.0 turbine. I was being a bit unclear because I didn't want to offend or knock the owner's car or Banzai's work while at the same time somewhat agree with Jason. I also am aware that power figures can vary a bit from car to car, dyno to dyno etc. Who knows hows those ports are compared to what we've done here or any other number of god knows what variables. I think anytime you have a 450whp 2800lb anything you have one hell of a car. Certainly more than enough to make you grin everytime you hit the throttle. My thoughts are if the owner is happy and loves the car who cares what any of us thinks.

GoRacer 07-22-07 03:10 PM

Why did the power drop off at 5500rpm's? Is your engine not ported?

Oh mentioning Ferrari's up above. The Ferrari Enzo is about the same weght (2700 or 2800lbs). I'd have to look the specs up again but I beleive we would need over 500rwhp to be equal.

finnicky7 07-22-07 04:33 PM

No, I have a large street port. As for the 5500rpm drop ask the dyno experts?

G's 3rd Gen 07-22-07 06:39 PM

great build.. maybe someday i'll get all my parts together. G

CrackHeadMel 07-22-07 09:25 PM

this makes me think more and more that instead of getting my t04s just rebuilt maby i just should trade it / sell it and move up to the t04z

atihun 07-22-07 09:42 PM

Is it just me or the torque and hp curves cross at 7000 RPMs?

Juiceh 07-22-07 09:53 PM

LoL wow. It sure does look like the peak power run did drop off and cross the torque and hp graphs for the low boost run @ 7k rpm... Why does the high boost run drop off so hard and have less power than the low boost after 7k rpm?
