Stock Twin Removal
:dubs:
I am getting rid of my non sequencial set up.... Any of you chaps has removed the stock setup with the engine in place? My egr and all the vacuum crap has long been dumped, but I never removed a stock set up with the engine in place.... any hints, suggestions and do s and dont s? Thanks in advance to all..... George |
Not difficult. Start with all the small parts like air filter, "Y" pipe, hoses, etc untill all that is left is the turbos. Then the DP, oil line/tubes, and coolant hoses.
Don't think too hard, just start on it. |
that's where i am at..... but you reckon that the turbos come out as a whole? or its best to dissect them up, and bring them out in pieces?
|
They come out together, I think there's 7or 8 bolt's ( nuts ) holding them to the manifold.
|
so i dont need to dis assamble the compressor housing.. brilliant! i figured that to repair or replace you dont need to pull out the engine, but iwanted to double check. Shortly i start on the project, i will try post some pics....
thanks. all hints and suggestions are always welcome! |
