stock turbo upgrade ? ( turbonetics )

Has anyone installed or know anything about stock turbo upgrades by turbonetics. they told me they bore out the stock compresser housing and install a bigger compresser wheel, bore the stock wastgate out, and clip the stock exhaust wheel . they charge $650.00 for the rebuild. They said it will be about the same as a 60-1. Can this be???. can it be possable to get good hp out of it . the reason is i want to make around 325rwhp+ but not have to worry about a new manifold, wastgate, changing oil and water lines, adapt the down pipe and adapt the tid.

I had the same thing you are talking about done to my turbo. It does work good but I can't see where it would be even close to a 60-1.

I have a set up very close to this. I have a TO4B SS "60" compressor (larger than stock)with a 60-1 compressor wheel. It is mated to a stock Hitachi center section and turbine housing. The exhaust manifold is modified for an external wastegate. I also have a Racing Beat turbo back. The exhaust and all lines, line up perfectly. This is a great turbo for up to 15 lbs. of boost. It spools very quickly, and with the right fuel and intercooler set up, should get you 300hp to the rear wheels. It has about 5000 miles on the turbo. It has never seen anything other than synthetic oil and there is no unusual wear. Down the road you can go with a TO4 manifold and larger TO4 turbine and up the power even more without a completely new turbo. These upgrades would get you close to a full 60-1. If this is the direction you would like to go, send me a private message and I can give you more details and a price as it is for sale.
