SS auto chrome turbo kit any good

It says it fine for na to turbo. I figured i could get this and a front mount with pipeing, some turbo 2 injectores and a safc to tune it and pretty much make a cheap turbo kit. Do you think if i keep the boost low will this be a good setup? any one used there kits before?

yeah sure, then you can blow up your motor, buy a new turbo because the ebay one fell apart, buy a nice wastegate because the ebay one got stuck causing your turbo to overboost witch caused your motor to blow in the first place not to mention the safc you used will get tossed because you found out that it doesn't do anything for timing all the while kicking your own ass because you half assed everything in the first place causing you to just spend more money getting the thing fixed. Sure go for it! But I bet next time you will search first about ebay items like the wonderful turbo kits they sell.

He has a point.

Might as well just save your money and do everything right the first time.

wow a simple no would of worked. I was just wondering cause i know of a bunch of guys running them on hondas and the only problem they had was with the manifold. And now i found a turbo 2 ecu and harness. i wasn't trying to get 300 hp out of it just something to put around on 4 - 6 psi thats all.

If you would of searched then you would of found out all of the info you need but instead you got flamed.

This is a great response. You don't mind if I add it to my own personal archives and use it in the future, do ya :D?

lol no not at all, be my guest :)

their newer turbos don't look all too bad but in all honesty the design specs for them look like they were drawn up with a pencil and some scratch paper. the lines on the turbo are all wrong, it looks like it was just built to look like a turbo not to perform like a well built turbo. even if the turbos do hold up the spooling will suffer as well as their output, so if you do try the turbo out i wouldn't expect much more than 250WHP even out of their rather large framed "T70" turbo.

if you search around you can see people selling those turbos left and right, almost every one for sale the purchaser was disappointed by the output of the turbo. just takes a little digging to find the info.

you can never find any real specs on the turbo because i doubt even the manufacter knows what they built, lol. do not trust any of the HP figures you see on that turbo, at most half what they claim.

you would be better off building a real kit for your car and omit their turbo and wastegate.

Remember my friend, you do not have a Honda. Honda doesn't transfer to Rotary. Whatever you thought you knew, throw it out the window. You are now in an enchanted world of triangles, and turbos. Cherish it. I will. Now, let me go back to hanging out with the 7 little rotors, and the sleeping housing. =oP

thank god its only a 2nd gen NA car :)

Tmack 02-09-07 04:25 PM

my friend bought one of those turbo kits for his car. He made 401hp on his at 18psi...for about 2 runs down the track lol. When he first bought the turbo kit, he pulled it out of the box and span the wheel like any of us would, The compressor wheel was hitting the housing. After he got the turbo machined and rebalanced everything was fine. It lasted about 2000km. The shaft play in that turbo was out of control, and yes it was rebuilt by a reputable shop in our area. The wastegate works great and the BOV works great. They arent really complicated pieces however. Do not trust that turbo.
