s366 borgwarner small streetport 519whp & half bridge s366
Tuned a couple rx7s with BW s366 and efr8374 recently thought id share some videos. Overall pretty impressed. All cars have zero lag, and very useable hp for motorsports drifting or Timattack.. All the engines were built by me and the guys at my shop.
I also just tuned a stockport 13brew on s366 with stock injectors, 10psi made 326whp on 91pump gas. Il upload that video when I can. I would definitely run a efr or BWs366 on my drift car lol If anyone needs their cars tune let me know ! Do you have any graphs you could share?
|
So good! Is the S366 an SX-E? Excited to see some graphs too.
|
Whats the fuel setup on the FC?
|
If an S366 and EFR8374 both have zero lag, why would anyone spend the extra money on an EFR8374?

Shooting for 600-700whp " assuming your hp is SAE. "I actually maxed out the fuel pump" you actually maxxed out your injectors. 525 is 1008 CFM and 69.65 pounds per minute. at 10.5 AFR and 6.54 pounds per gallon for E85 that is 1.013 GPM/3834 CC/Min two items increase the requirements as we move toward solving for injector sizing: lag which we will est at 13% max injector duty cycle where we will use 85% simply multiply by 1.35 and we are there 3834 net X 1.35 = 5176 Gross injector requirements for 525 at 10.5 AFR. on GAS. to adjust for E85 multiply gas by 1.35 5176 X 1.35 = 6987 Gross injector requirements for 525 at 10.5 AFR you have approx 6000 CC Gross. as to your fuel pump... a Walbro 9000267 E85 pump makes 98 GPH at 19 PSI boost plus 3 BAR (43.5 PSI) at 13.5Volts. 98 GPH is 5236 CC/Min. the motor at 525 needs 3834 net gas and 5175 E85 if your pump is hard wired you are O K on pump at 525 and will be not O K above. as far as: "Shooting for 600-700whp" injectors: 6987 required for 525 7985 required for 600 9316 required for 700 you have 6000 turbo 525 hp requires 69.6 pounds per minute 600 hp requires 79.6 pounds per minute 700 hp requires 92.8 pounds per minute your turbo according to Borg Warner makes 75 tops. Response aside; the EFR uses a investment cast SS turbine housing, is water cooled, available in IWG, has a built in BOV & boost control solenoid, and has two oil seals per wheel. |

Howard I am trying to max out the efr 8374 . I had my shot last Saturday but the weather just was not on my side.. Air temps was skyrocketing over 70-80celcius, feels like summer here in SoCal.. I finished tuning but actually didn't get my target hp.. Trying to convince the customer to go fmic and try out the turbo smart wastegate actuator and find a cool day to hit the Dyno and max out the efr8374 on a small streetport in the name of science 👍👍 will post up results ! |

Nice calculations! Except I'm not at a typical fuel pressure most people are at. The fuel pump is hard wired, and my base fuel pressure is at 60psi (engine off) yeah a lot of other tuners always wonder how I can make power on the size injectors I use.. Lol also I'm not tuning to 10.5 afr. I don't tune as lean as most other tuners.

Also - what coils are you using? Something else I have encountered is getting E85 to ignite at higher boost levels. AFR's in the 10's is probably not going to happen which is not an issue if you are on E85. If your air temps are in check AFR's in the high 11's and even right at 12 should be no problem. Power goes up quite a bit as well. |
i appreciate and am supportive of your plan as to maxxing out the 8374.
raising base pressure, while somewhat helpful, is ultimately a losing battle. base pressure of 60 V 43.5 is up 37.95% of course flow increases at the square root of the % so you gain 17.4% flow. offsetting the higher base pressure is the declining flow from the pump due to the raised pressure. for instance at 25 psi boost the pump can do 94 GPH using the 43.5 base pressure while at 60 base pressure the pump does 78 GPH. in this case an increase in flow of 17% from 60 base pressure produces a 17% decrease in flow so you are back to the same flow as if you were running 43.5 if you are after maxxing out the 8374 you will be at 42 psi boost. 42 boost (max flow boost level for the 8374) plus 60 base pressure is 102. at that point the pump will produce 51 GPH. none of this works w one pump and it is therefore clear why you are going to multiple pumps. i would prefer to use one Walbro E85 pump and run it at 16 volts (only) in boost. that way you only get the fuel you need when you need it and avoid pumping it back and forth thru the system. according to BW's compressor map the 8374 should top out at 580 SAE or 595 STD. DK was there any update to this breh??
its a really good read. :icon_tup::icon_tup: |
:fingersx:I just got this setup on a fuilly built, street ported 13b with a PFC and although it's not even broken in or boosting yet, this thread just got me super excited!
ima put a pic us asap! |
