Rtek7 ECU upgrade
Hey guys was wanting to know if anyone had experience with the Rtek7 chips. I was thinking about buying on for my TII. I just rebuilt an s5 motor with rew apex and side seals with a big street port. I just finished the break in on it and now i want to see about making some power. I was looking at the different stand alone ecus on the tuning forum here, when i discover the rteks. So I thought I'd ask everyone's opinion before I bought one. On a side note how big of injectors would I need to make about 320whp. Also if anyone knows someone with a good s5 turbo I could use it or I'll have to have mine rebuilt. Lastly if anyone has advice on my build making my goal of 320whp I would appreciate it. Thanks for any input you guys might have.

BNR rebuilds stock turbos into hybrids for more power while still being a hybrid.
BNR Supercars - Bryan Nickell's Rotary Supercars - Mazda RX-7 2nd Generation (1987-1991) Rtek 1.7 does not allow for any user tuning, if I understand correctly. It is for mildly tuned cars if I understand correctly. Rtek 2 is required for self tuning abilities. Rtek7 ECU Upgrade Technical Information The Rtek has some cool built in features, but is still rather limited. I suggest looking into a Powerfc. It's plug and play with the help of a banzai adaptor. But of course, talk to your tuner first. Banzai Racing S5 PFC Harness Adapter |
rtek 1.8 with 720cc's all around. or even running 720cc primary 820cc secondary with a safc. or just get a 2.0/2.1 and it'll have the fuel tuning included. and i think 2.0/2.1 offers timing tuning?
i'm running a s4 chassis. s5 t2 block, stock turbo, fmic, rtek 1.8 720/820cc. still need to install my safc for a tune. and im planning on getting a bnr stage 2. should have no issues with this setup for now. decent little setup for getting it for a steal. the rtek chips helped with the 3800 hesitation. secondaries kick in sooner and smoothed out the powerband. deflood option is nice as well. |
Rtek 2.1 is half the cost of a power fc, maybe 1/3 when you add everything up. For your goals it may be a better solution.

dont use them rtek chips unless its the 2.1 . i ahd a 1.8 it was fine but my car would flodd out randomly sometimes it doesnt pull timing or nothing . good if u have stock motor with catback n bigger injectors or something . get rtek 2.1

yeah honestly i'd rather run a 2.1. i got mine for a steal. but at least with the 2.1 you won't have to splice any wires and worry about piggybacks like the safc.
would love to trade my setup for a s4 t2 2.1+cash on my end though. |
