rough idea on a T04e
Here is my setup:
1990 TII Engine 680CC Primary Injectors 1600CC Secondary Injectors NPR Subaru FMIC Haltech E6K computer Now with my limited knowledge and research on turbos, I found that T04e would be the best choice for my application (road racing and autox). I want around 350-400RWHP and want to minimize the lag. I have no clue what kind of trim i have to use or how to calculate the intake/exhaust ratio. So it would help a lot if you guys give some numbers or some info on how i would be able to calculate these numbers. Thanks, Omid |
What kinda turbo exhaust manifold are you planning to run?  It makes a big difference on collected versus divided on turbine A/R recommendations.

HKS Cast manifold with external wastegate

Yea, Jason sells the HKS cast for $250, standard wastegate 40mm wastegate for $345 , To4e for around $850, Oil lines and fittings for $100 Custom made downpipe for $150 if that. Thats a cheap and reliable single turbo setup :D Thats how I like it less than 2K!!

it's collected

I know that, doing back to original question, what kind of ratios I need for the turbo OR do you guys have a site i can go to and find out how to calculate the numbers and what kind of trim to get.

I dunno what's the big deal about FC versus FD aftermarket turbo manifolds.  Anything that will fit an FD WILL fit on an FC.  This is not the case vice versa.

thanks guys for whoring the post

i thought I read somewhere that the plate between the housings in the FD is smaller or larger, don't know which one, that' why it makes the overall length of the engine different; hence you can't bolt the ex. manifold from a fd to fc or viceversa
But then again i don't have the best memory |
Well since no one else has spit some #'s out at you I'll give it a shot....
My goals are about the same as yours and here is what I've pretty much come up with for a turbo. 60-1 compressor .6 (maybe .7) compressor housing, depending where you want your powerband p-trim turbine .84 turbine housing maybe a 1.00 (again depending where you want your powerband) Another thing you need to consider is your exhaust manifold, what are you going to run? If it's going to be a devided one then I'd say either the .84 or 1.00 (those are devided turbine housings) but if it's a non devided exh manifold I'd say .81 or .96 (non devided turbine housings) anyone dissagre? |
