restrictor

I have a 93 rx7 with a garett gt37r. I was wondering what size restrictors do you guys use because i just rebuilt the motor and having a hard time deciding if the turbo is blowing oil of the new rebuild is still smoking....

Thanks for the help.

I also just thought about this, but the turbo went bad on the car. So that might be all the old oil in the exhaust. I am just really worried about it and dont want it to go bad again.

It was just started today for about 20 min or so. So i might need to let it idle and drive it a little bit more before i get too worried about it.

if it's a fresh rebuild and you have only run it for 20 minutes.... then it's got a little bit before all the smoke is gone :)

Well like i said (i think i did) that i have about 150 miles on it now. And it still smokes a little. Wondering what it could be.

any oil pressure mods done to the engine? Whats the pressure at idle and at 3500RPM?

Any restrictor at all in it now?

Only oil mod that i have done is the pellet in the front cover. I will have to check the pressure at 3500, but i am sure that it will be high.

Yes i have a -3 restrictor that ams uses for the evo's and talons due to their high oil pressure as well. I believe that it is a 37 thousandths.

I had a GT35r with a restrictor. But I heard somewhere the BB turbos have internal restrictors. SO I just took it out. Runs good.

Hmmmm well for some reason i was recommended one.... I am still getting a small amount of blue smoke after a while of driving...
