Questions on this Divided Manifold

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2453461168

This FD Manifold Is selling like hotcakes on ebay. Has anyone bought on of these? What are your regards to It? Are the runners equal length? Finally, whats It going to take to mount this on a s5 TII?

I currently have a new HKS undivided Manifold that I'm finding every reason not to go with. Details would be most appreciated here.

for once i get to say this... do a search... the manifold has been discussed quite a bit in terms of fitment for FC.

Haha Jason. Sure, stick It to me buddy.:D The one thread I didn't do this on, I get directed. You know, I'd have to say I am the one who posts the most links to noobs In the 2nd Gen Forum so why can't my efforts be paid off exponientially here with the simple questions I'm asking?

*Edit*

Remind me to unleash a can of whoop ass when I see you.;)

I've seen one of these things up close, and it doesn't fit on an FC3S 13BT using a T04E-50 with a tangential turbine housing.  It will not fit without a spacer.

The top pic of the turbo flange is how you're going to get it; the bottom pic shows a much better looking divided turbo flange, but this is not what you're going to get.  This is one of my biggest beefs of this manifold - that turbo flange does not match a proper divided T04 turbine flange well.

I never measured it myself, but I find it hard to believe that the pipes are over 2.0mm - did anyone measure this to confirm?

The welds are crappy - I've seen better.  I put $20 that everything is going to crack within a few months.

I would still recommend the HKS cast collected unit for a little over $200 than this piece of junk.

Your reply Is much appreciated Ted...

Both pics don't represent the same Manifold than? WTF Is that? As for the Turbo Flange, this will be going on a TO4B. I dunno. The seller claims It'll fit. Even If It doesn't, I'll get Brullen Exhuast to correct the Flange.

The seller does claim to warrant any Manifolds that crack, should that be the case. I was thinking about this too...to have added additional reinforcements to prevent this. Inspite of the warranty, I don't want to go through the hassle of sending It back to have It dealt with. So I might aswell correct It (even though It may not be needed) the 1st time around.

"2.7MM THICK PIPES"? I'd like to know aswell. But In particular, If the runners are of equal length for both sides.

From looking at the pics, and based on my own experience of what it takes to make equal length runners, I would say that those are not equal length. The flange is too far forward and too close to the engine flang to possible achieve equal length IMO.

Yea, I have that manifold. The runners are not equal length. The welds are OK..not the best ive ever seen, But they should hold up for awhile if you brace the turbo. I cant tell you how it works because i never used it. But i can tell you that it wont bolt up to a TII without a spacer, I test fitted it with a .84 tangential housing and it wasnt even close to fitting.

When it was all said and done i ditched that manifold for a custom made one that actually fits my car without having to buy a spacer or worry about the quailty.

Anyways... I have that manifold for sale if anyone is interested.

I have one, the welds are week, but $30 at any exhaust shop could clean it up.

Mine doesnt have that weird flange on it, it has a standard t4 flange.

mine is going on a s5 motor, with a extra flange for a spacer, with two stock gaskets.

the turbo is a 1.15 p trim, Ill let you know how it fits.

silverrotor 01-15-04 02:25 PM

Hmm...than this Manifold Is already deemed a failure before the purchase took place. I cannot have a Manifold where the runners are not of equal length. I'm particular like that.

A side from this divided, anyone know where I could get a smashing deal on one made specific to the FC, and where the runners are of equal length?

RETed 01-15-04 06:13 PM

Yeah, it is not even close to being equal length.  The difference is on the order of like around 4".

The flange will fit a T04 turbine, but ours was the nasty looking "D"-passages, which are nothing like the rectangular ports on the T04 turbine inlet.

At this point I'm Inclined to have a custom made one done at Brullen Exhuast. Admittingly, the down time Is whats hindering me from doing this...unless of course,
If someone can let me know where a deal can be had for a divided Manifold with equal length piping.

They said that this is an HKS style manifold, does this mean that I can get the HKS downpipe for single turbo and bolt it on my FD? Anyone know if this is a copy of the HKS?
