Question about how I mounted my TURBO **PICS**

Does the angle of the T6 flange matter, does it need to be at an angle or can it be positioned flat ? I'm going to start building my manifold next weekend and want to get it set and ready to make a jig. I've got the turbo and compressor housing exactly where I want it, now I just need to rotate the turbing housing and tighten it down.

I hope thats not your new welder!!! What do you mean flat? Are you talking about the turbo being parallel to the ground or the flange being perpendicular to the tubing entering it?

Yeah dude, I told you I can't weld for crap :rlaugh:

My friend came over and showed me what can be done with my new lincoln so that eased my mind. :scared:

The T6 flange, I'm wondering if that needs to be at a certain angle or if it can be level with the floor.

As long as the oil drain doesn't exceed about thirty degrees from vertical in any direction your good to go.

CrackHeadMel 09-16-07 08:35 PM

and the chra is within 15* of being level as well iirc, as far as rotating the turbine housing, spin it around any which way you want

Second post. And also Eric, borg warner says NOT to run more than 60 PSI of oil pressure.

Oh, I wasn't talking about the center section. That will stay level with the ground. What I'm asking about is the T6 flange itself.

Yeah, my center section will stay level with the ground. I was just asking about the turbing housing. It seems everyone always has theirs cocked at an angle. I didn't know if there was some sort of voodoo al gore chemistry to figure out the correct angle of that T6 flange.

You have 360* to chose from when it comes to clocking of the turbine housing.

Right one dude, sorry for not making myself clear. I have a cold and took a bunch of Grampaw's Cough Medicine so I'm not totally with it :cylonA:

I feel like it :(

Which intake manifold setup do you plan on running?
Probably you should wait before you jig everything up and then to find out the intake manifold can't fit.

I'm going to use the JW Transmission lower intake with the E&J Throttle Body and a hat. That setup doesn't stick out further than stock does it ?

I just wanted to get the header atleast built before ordering that intake setup.

Cris, you're the expert on those E&J's........... do they stick out further than the stock ? I have quite a bit of clearance right now.

I haven't seen the JW one, but if its anything like the Jay-Tech, they stick much further than the FC3S LIM manifold!

The JW intake sticks out MUCH further than the stock LIM!!! Wait till you get the intake and TB before you finalize anything.

Viking War Hammer 09-17-07 05:17 PM

Well, ahh crud........... guess I need to order the JW intake now then http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...0002_680043_-1

Order the intake manifold first, thank crisspeed for catching that one. 15deg on the CHRA is Garretts specs for their turbo's I would shoot for 15deg regardless as Straight would be perfect. That bullseye forum has way too much misinformation on many counts, not saying all of it is, just a heads up, as some people read stuff and it's imediately considered gospel.
