PTE 3 5/8" Vband Flange- What am I missing
So I have a 6266 with the 3 5/8" vband discharge. I got the flange from the dealer, and it's listed as being compatible with a 3 or 3.5" tube. I slid my 3" 16 gauge tube into it, and this is what I see"
https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...09568982_n.jpg So what exactly am I missing here? Should I just try and flare the tube out? Fill the 1/8"+ gap with fill rod? Cut the flange down so the gap isn't so extreme? Find some mythical 3.5-3" stainless reducer? |
Don't look like it fits to me.
You could fill that gap, but having that heavy a weld deposit in that application probably isn't a good idea. I'd take the pipe to a muffler shop and have them spread it out to fit that flange. |
looks to me like the pipe is spose to go on the outside of that so maybe a 3.5 definetly dont try and fill it it will warp the flange.
|
The 3.5" fits on the widest most lip. The 3" should touch the lip that's inside and higher. Have you measured your pipe?
|
I think atp turbo might sell 3.5/3 stainless transition pipes.

Tube is 16ga 3" OD from acestainless, I think I'll just get a reducer then.
