Propane questions

have any of you ever tried propane ? it has a higher octane level around 105 just wonder i am going to be building up a rx7 engine for my gt40 kit car i plan on running sumthing like a t72 at around 30psi, thinking of running propane and just switching over to carbs instead of fuel injection, also i will be getting new apex seals just wondering what would be good, i hear ceramic is great if so 1 peice or multi peice, thanks mike

The only thing i've heard about propane is that it is used in diesel motors. It supposed to act like nitrous oxide on a regular motor. Anyways, good luck to ya. Try it out if your not sure and tell us the results. I'd like to know if it works.

I was thinking of this same propane setup for my car. www.onlygoodstuff.com has a nice kit but it is used mostly on grandnationals.. I have decided to run water injection instead just because alot more rotary guys use water but good luck with the propane.

well i don't plan to run it like you would run water injection, i plan to run strictly on propane, my dad has all of his stock gas powered trucks running propane, it makes a little bit less power, but with the higher octane i can run more bosst , and plus propane is alot cheaper too

you are thinking backwards... people use it in wet nitrous kits... BUT it is a sorce of fuel NOT oxygen...

Yes, propane is a lot cheaper than gas. I believe propane is going for around $1.80/gal now. i've been thinking about propane for some time now and have some links for you. Also, there is a guy Down Under who built a 1st Gen to run strictly on propane and is pushing around 360 Hp.
